Grand Prospect Hall?

Original post by JLWSJC

Just curious--- I saw the commercial (AGAIN) and I never hear anyone say they are getting married there. Is anybody? Did anybody? Or did anyone go to see it? Just wondering what the experience was like?

i ask the waitress what kinda chicken it was and she didnt know, she went into the kitchen to ask 5 mins later she come back and was like chicken in a sauce. and i was like what kinda sauce, she goes back in to the kitchen for another 5 mins and finaly comes out and says the sauce is brown.

I was like is this is this girl for real , am i being punked or something. So i have to say probably the worst service i have ever had.

i had to bite my tongue just now to keep from laughing!

geez!

whats funny about this is that I had similar awful service and honestly crappy food at a place that Ive been to countless times before and was great the other times...an it wasn't the place you're all talking about.

I swear, they must have been desperate for waiters and dragged ours off the street. And..we were at table #1. Yep..family of the bride and we never got coffee or cake. They completely forgot my Moms food. I ordered chicken, they brought me fish. It was cold and mushy. The asked us for drink orders..never got them, we just gave up on them and went to get them ourselves. Just honestly a bad wedding.

my dad actually called them the next week and complained sin e they were business associates of his and they were horrified. It was THAT bad. lol

basically you can have a bad affair. It happens.

the hall is nice and me & FI actually went to check them out. i LOVE the theater feel of the place and the price they were giving us is reasonable.

we didn't get it because we wanted a one-wedding-at-a-time hall and honestly (this is just my opinion and i do not mean to offend others) it just creeped me out when i went there because everything in that place is OLD! it reminded me so much of my fave movie 'Somewhere in Time' though.

the grand piano on the main hall obviously needs fine-tuning and cleaning. and i guess since we went there later in the day, not all lights were lit so it sortta scared me. i have pretty sensitive smell and it smells old.

again, i do not mean to offend here. this is just my experience.

I went to a prom there (years ago) and someone I know recently went to an affair there. It's a crap hole!!! Gaudy, old decor, bad food, even worse area. bad, bad, bad!! I do not recommend

If this is how you give opinions, remind me to never ask you for it! Have a heart much? Be nice next time. Just say you don't like it. Done.

I always see these commercials on T.V.. I like the music on the commercial- sounds intense. The ballroom does look nice.

i always see the commercials and the place looks really pretty on tv. i went online and saw their website and their rooms looked really pretty. i don't have any concept of how big or small the rooms are but it looks like they do have more than one room available.
And I believe that they can cater to more than one ethnic background - food wise.

i didn't know that so many people have prom's and parties there. But I agree, what you would pay for a prom is probably different than what you would pay to have a wedding there.

I hope you 2010 brides getting married there take tons of pics and post them here! would love to see what it looks like!

Some of the comments on this site I will never understand. How would you feel if someone said that about your hall? That is totally inconsiderate of other girls feelings, unbelievably mean and outright f'd up! As a newbie on this site- (and yes you are a newbie with only 20 posts) you should check yourself before you post on a thread.

JMO!!!!!

so first of all Indian food is not Trinidadian food...just becasue you may not like that type of food doesnt mean it is something to compare to being unedible...
