Great shower gift

I am jumping over from the brides board. One of the GM in our party will be a dad soon, and I would like to get / make them a great gift.

Could any one make a good suggestion? I am a little handy with a sewing machine (I have made my purse and veil for the wedding, and have made cushions and curtains, so if its simple I could do it), but basically, since I have this opportunity, I would like to get them something they will love, and what better place than to ask an already parent. While I would like to make a handmade gift, if there is one awesome gift I could buy I would
