We are staying in Glyfada for a week and then we are off to Rhodes for another week and then we are going to Kefalonia.

I just can't wait to lounge on the beach all day long!

JUne bride - where in Kefalonia? My grandmother lives there... haven't been in a million years though. DH and I are planning to go next summer for the Olympics!

We are staying in Skala in Kefalonia. My dad was born in Kefalonia but grew up in Glyfada and that is where we spent our summers growing up.
However, I prefer the beach in Kef. to the beaches in Athens.

My friends father is from Glyfada... my dad is from a small little town no where near the beach up at the top of the mountain. But from what I remember the beaches were gorgeus... I'm so jealous you are going!

Angela! We stayed in Glyfada/Varkiza when we went last year!

Where do you stay in Glyfada?

We were all going to go to Greece this summer but with FI's dad sick, no one wants to go. Probably will be honeymooning there though.

P.S. - The Ionian islands have the best darn beaches anywhere. I'm from Lefkada and one of the beaches from there got voted the 3rd nices beach in Europe (if I may toot my own nisi's horn)

Olga- We have a house in Glyfada so we stay there. I def. agree that the Ionian Isles have the best beaches. We went to Santorini and the beaches were nice but not as nice as the ones in Kefalonia.

Where are all of you girls planning on going for your honeymoon

Looks like we are going to Athens to visit FI's oikogenia and then Sand Castle gives us 10 days at a Cretan Resort so that will be our 'downtime' in Greece and then off to another island (no choices yet). I never thought I'd want to go to Greece for our honeymoon, but I feel like I'll get to relive our wedding with FI's family and I'm so excited!

We have no idea where we want to go. People keep telling us to go somewhere like Tahiti or Bali, someplace where you are never gonna go again, but I don't know if I want to spend 15 hours on a plane.

FH and I want to go somewhere exotic....either Hawaii or Tahiti...we have never gone on vacation away together (Greenport doesnt count)...so we really want to go all out...

JN and Jennifer are both booked for my wedding date. But I go to an awesome salon not 5 minutes from my house and I will probably use them for hair and makeup anyway! I just have to go talk to them

I am going for a hair trial with Denise Venti on July 20th. I wouldn't think that I would have to book hair and makeup so early, but a lot of the makeup artists are booked already!!!!!

Also, for those of you who live in Queens, do you know of a salon in Bayside called Christie and Co?? I am looking for someone to do makeup and hair for my mother-in-law and since she lives in the Bronx I figured it would be easier to get someone to go to her house from Queens. Any reccommendations???
