Re: Greek Brides??
OMG!! Eleni I loved the way you put how you want to 'protect the insane' *lol*I havent decided about music for the church yet. I know I am not having a choir. Does St. D. even have an organ? I cant remember from my cousins' weddings. I am debating bec I dont knwo what i want to walk down to yet. I dont want Here comes the Bride. I love Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring for the recessional - havent decided on the processional yet. I have played the flute for about 15 years so I was thinking of having a recording my James Galway play. Dont know how that will sound though so I have to try it out wiht the chruch first - i dont want it to sound all wierd and St. D. does not have a good record with their sounds system. My brother is called so often to help them fix it.
Debbie: I think St. D's does provide a white runner. Not 100% sure but pretty sure because I remember the lady from the church setting up before one of my cousin's wedding. Everyone was there, the bride and the groom - we were waiting for the priest!

Holy cr@p!
My limo co. is providing a white runner and there's an organist at St. Paul's. I think she charges $250. I'm going to call her in a couple of mos.
Georgia: When and where are you going to Powerstation play? You're going to see Nick play? My FFIL keeps on forgetting to ask that guy Chris! Thanks

Re: Greek Brides??
Marcela - We are going to the Crescent Beach Club on Sunday to hear John Papastefanou sing at a wedding there. I just have to call them and ask him what time about and which wedding. I might get FH to call him - my greek isnt that great and Chris Lambropoulos keeps on answering in Greek so I feel obligated to respond in greek. (i understand a lot better than I speak). You should come hear them!

At Least 50 Injured in Greece Earthquake1 hour, 9 minutes ago Add World - AP to My Yahoo!
By BRIAN MURPHY, Associated Press Writer
ATHENS, Greece - A powerful earthquake (news - web sites) Thursday injured more than 50 people and turned a peak summer holiday into an exodus of frightened tourists from the Ionian Sea island of Lefkada.
Rescue officials said at least 50 people were treated for injuries that included broken limbs caused by falling rocks and roof tiles. Three others — a Scottish couple and a Czech — suffered serious head injuries in a landslide.
The damage included cracks at the main hospital, forcing an evacuation of patients to the nearby port of Preveza on the mainland. Landslides left some remote villages cut off, police said.
Authorities attributed the relatively light damage to strict anti-quake construction codes imposed in recent decades in one of the world's most quake-prone zones.
But signs of the quake's 6.4 magnitude — which was felt as far away as Athens and Italy — were scattered throughout the island: cracked roads, fallen lampposts, a collapsed wall in an empty church and a home tilting on its foundation. Other islands and mainland towns reported isolated damage.
The quake struck deep in the seabed 175 miles northwest of Athens. At least two strong aftershocks followed with preliminary magnitudes of 5.3, said the Athens Geodynamic Institute.
'There is damage to homes and businesses around the island, mostly to older buildings and it is not serious,' said Greece's deputy interior minister, Lambros Papademos.
The only bridge linking the resort island with the western mainland was jammed with cars carrying Greek and panicked foreign tourists Nearly every Greek vacation spot is packed for the high point of the country's traditional summer break: the Aug. 15 religious festivities for the feast day of the Virgin Mary. Lefkada merchants and hotel owners watched helplessly as thousands of visitors headed away after the quake.
'It mostly scared tourists, who have not felt such intense things. We have lived through many earthquakes (news - web sites),' said Ilias Georgakis, a resident of Lefkada.
The quake hit as the Ionian islands held memorials for the 50-year anniversary of a series of devastating quakes that killed 476 people and flattened the island of Cephalonia, just south of Lefkada.
Panayiotis Fourlas, the chief of Greece's firefighting forces, said fire and rescue squads were posted throughout the island 'in case we have to deal with any new problems.'
The Civil Defense Agency sent about 180 tents for residents too frightened to return home.
The deadliest quake in Greece in recent years was a 5.9-magnitude that struck Athens in September 1999, killing 143 people and leaving thousands homeless.

Re: Greek Brides??
Thanks Marcella! Happy nameday to you and FH too. Happy nameday to Olga's mom also. Olga, I wish you the best with your family in Lefkada.
I don't want to rain on the parade, but do you all think that this was not terrorist-related, like the government claims? I have to admit that am a little skeptical... how could you rule out terrorism within half an hour, claim that it was a lightning bolt, recant the claim about the lightning, have no idea what caused it, but still be sure that it could have been anything except terrorism? Call me paranoid, but it's not making sense to me. They need to come up with better answers.

Re: Greek Brides??
Happy Nameday Debbie!!I agree with you Debbie about the possibility of the BO being terrorism related. I dont think it has anything to do with being paranoid. The government doesnt tell us half of what actually happens. Went i went to Niagra Falls a few years ago - we passed by the NY side. The place was so run down and no one was around. It would have been so easy for someone to do 'something.' FH is just as suspicious too. Their excuses and the pointing finger routine that they are doing is just too fake.

Re: Greek Brides??
You're welcome Debbie and Thank you
I totally agree. The minute I found out how wide spread the blackout was, I thought it was terrorism and still do. I really hope and pray that we're all wrong.
It just seems WAY TOO weird. And I also agree, that the government WOULD NOT tell us if it was anyway. So I guess we'll never know.

Re: Greek Brides??
I am happy to hear that I am not the only conspiracy buff out there... although I do hope we are all wrong. And lemme say one more thing and then I'll stop being so 'negative'. Those hand held missiles, they are not good, not good at all. They are easy to get and can easily shoot down an airplane. For instance, remember TWA over 10 years ago over the Long Island Sound... and the flight for the Dominican Republic (I think it was DR) after 9/11? Very fishy.I love the US. I defend it all the time, especially to non-Americans. but as you ladies mentioned, they don;t tell us everything, sometimes it's to protect us, and sometimes it's to protect themselves.
