Irene: I agree, even though I didn't know him, I feel horrible about it. It's so sad
My co worker is going to go his wake sometime this week. He said one day was just for family and the other day isn't.

Hey girls - did you/are you planning to have an engagement party? How big and where did you have it? How many people?

Re: Greek Brides??
Haven't had an e-party yet. I'm open to ideas. Looking to do one in LI with 80-100. Trying to keep it simple, like a nice early sunday dinner, or champagne brunch. Any suggestions. Nassau Co?

Re: Greek Brides??
We had a very small e-aparty in July... it was only my family and a couple close family friends, my in-laws and FH's uncle and aunt, and our koubari. We had it at my house (my dad used to be a chef and caterer, so it was awesome!). I think it was around twenty people. We weren't even planning to have one (FH and I are pretty low-key), but then my parents bought FH an e-gift and his parents bought me one and we figured we'd have an 'official' engagement. I am glad we had one... I wish I had a scanner to post pics... i'll try to do it at FH's house this weekend.FMIL wanted to throw a bar-b-q party for us out on the island at the end of this month... not sure if it's going to happen because of FH's new job and my 'almost' new job. (waiting to hear back from them).
We also plan to throw a party for our close friends either right before the wedding or after (the people we would want in our wedding party if we had one).

Re: Greek Brides??
wow 225??For Greek standards we are having a very small wedding. We are having about 100 people total. It's all my family - FI family is in Greece so for honeymoon we'll be going there and having another 'reception' if you will with all his family. Even the people at the Sand Castle were like, 'Hey where is the big Greek weddings that we usual have?' :EMO 8:
For engagement we want to do something small - parents and my two closest thias and cousins - and have a priest and dinner. Nothing big.

Re: Greek Brides??
FH and I are probably not having an engagement party. Mostly for saving money purposes and other touchy family issues
- For our wedding though our max is 200 - We have to guarantee 150 - I really dont want to go much higher than that though.

So I want to look around before we decide whether to book them or not. Thanks

718-767-2263- savvas called me about three weeks ago. he said he was going to be gone (to greece) for 3.5 weeks. Maybe he's back, but if he does not answer, you know the reason why.

Re: Greek Brides??
I know, I'm the same way
If you feel bad telling them you booked someone else. Just tell them to not hold your date, b/c you've discussed it with your family and are now unsure whether you will even have a band play at your wedding.

Re: Greek Brides??
when you call them, tell them i gave you their number, then i won't feel as bad...unless of course you reject them too... then i'll feel even worse!
you're right, i should call them and let them know. maybe tomorrow, before they get back from greece! that way there is not interaction.
