Re: Greek Brides??

I was surprised to hear about it too. One more place I wont let my kids go to. Because when I was their age, we didnt have places like that.

Re: Greek Brides??

Ditto! In our days - the discos didn't have girls who dressed like prostitutes and men with one thing on their mind. We had quality individuals with morals and sincereness. Oh yeah, and no one drank or danced on the bars.

Yeah ok

Re: Greek Brides??

I don't even want to think about my kids having sex... and I don't even have kids yet!

In my days, nobody had sex either. Procreation only.

Re: Greek Brides??

Wet T-shirt? umm - eww - I totally didnt have remys pegged like that. The one time I went it seemed as if everyone was so upclass - I guess the have different nights to cater to everyone that does go out. I think i will be staying away from Remys on sundays.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Re: Greek Brides??

Hi girls. Sorry been MIA a few days. What a few crazy days its been. Had some car troubles. Hope they are resolved now. Also, think I have found it. I'm so excited.

Also, I have heard that Remy has many 'theme' nights. They also have a comedy night, also fashion show night. **shrug**. I found it bizarre too.

Re: Greek Brides??

Hi girls,

I just got back from my cousin's bachelorette party this weekend. We went to the Mohegan Sun Casino in Connecticut and had so much fun. Unfortunately, we had no sun and could not sit out at the pool but other than that...it was nice.

Speaking of bars..did you hear that one of the Caprice owners died over the weekend. Heart attack at the age of 35...so sad.

Re: Greek Brides??

Olgaki -- I'm 90% that is the dress.

35 is such a young age to die. What a tragedy. Any family like a wife and kids?

Re: Greek Brides??

Eleni - I love the dress! It is so pretty! Who is the designer? It reminds me of Demetrios but I might be wrong.

The guy from Acoustical Fantasy got back to me - Not Chris, - but Mike - I was actaully shocked. I was going to give him a call later in the day but he beat me to it. So, he is sending us a demo. I actually heard Chris Zavolas sing on the greek station sunday night driving home with FH. I wasnt too impressed but i really think it was bec of the song. SO cant wait to hear him. Chris will be in Greece for the next 2-3 weeks and Mike is going to Greece soon for about 2 weeks. I so cant wait until we book this - I will have one less thing on my mind.

I actually figured out what flowers I want though. FINALLY!! I am probably going to do an all orchid wedding. FH and I stopped by teh North Ritz on our way out to the island on sunday and the hall was set up with orchid centerpieces. So I am now hooked. Hopefully the price of the flowers wont shock FH.

Girls - are you serious that the owner from Caprice was so young. That is too sad! I cant beleive it. I cant deal with death at all but when you hear that the person is that young it is so much worse.

Re: Greek Brides??

Georgia - I thought that he didn't sound half as good on the demo tape as he did in person. Before ruling him in or out, I'd go see him in person. He's such a nice guy

Re: Greek Brides??

I totally am going to go hear him sing in person! I agree that a recording and a particular song really affects the way a singer sounds. AF is also quoted us for less so as long as I love the way they sing they have a lot going for them!

Re: Greek Brides??

Irene: I heard that also But I didn't think they had done the autopsy yet. A guy that I work with was on his softball team and he said he was such a great guy. But as of 6:30pm he hadn't heard the result of the autopsy.

Edited to say: The guy's name from Caprice is Peter. Don't know his last name though.

Re: Greek Brides??

Georgia,

The dress is Maggie Sottero.

About you being at the North Ritz on Sun, funny so was I. We went there to check it out as a possible E-party venue. How funny. I too saw those orchid arrangements with the hanging lanterns. I thought they were beautiful. I forgot to look for the florists van though. Darn it.

Re: Greek Brides??

Eleni, that is too funny! What time were you there? Bec, FH and I interrupted a couple that was there so that we could pay our deposit. It would be insane if you were the ones sitting in the room!

The florist had left by the time we were there though. The band was setting up. I didnt even think to ask Dennis about the florist. I guess I could always inquire I dont know about the flowers on the bottom - I was thinking of having just orchids for our flowers so maybe making a orchid wreath at the base of the arrangement. Still coming up with ideas. Since I am having a pear theme - I was thinking of having small hanging wax pears from teh arrangement but still dont know how that will work out. I must wait for florist feedback when I go looking.

Once again, beautiful dress!

Re: Greek Brides??

Think we were there about 12ish? Funny we came in the back door so as not to be seen by the bride. Were in the reception room for like a few minutes, caught a glimse of the cocktail room and then we were out of there. I agree the mound of flowers was a little strange. But I must say I really liked the place. Too wedding-esque for an e-party actually. But very nice and the lake out front was such a key touch.

Re: Greek Brides??

We were probably there a bit earlier than 12 - the bride and groom were getting married in the chapel downstairs, so we were able to sneak a peek at their cocktail our and the dining hall before anyone came up. There is definitely a elegant tone to the NRC - that is one of the reasons why I chose it. Since i am getting married in Jan, really wondering what it looks like that time of year.
