Re: Greek Brides??
Thanks Scoop. It is so nice of you to respond. I almost feel stupid for posting such a question, but I just had to ask. I was too embarrassed to ask anyone I know. When I was a young girl we were taught to never do your cross sitting down. Then when I got married, my in-laws always did it seated at the table and we've continued that way. I needed reassurance that it wasn't majorly wrong.
Take care.

Re: Greek Brides??
LIMom, I have seen it done both ways. At my koubara's house, they stand up. At another friend's house, they sit. Others - and my family has been guilty of this- just do their Crosses and toast. So I think whatever you do will be fine. Do what you feel most comfortable with.

Re: Greek Brides??
Hi girls! I have a question - I'm going to be baptizing my nephew in march and I was just wondering where would be a good place to look for a cross. Obviously i wish I could go to Greece but that unfortunately is out of the question.Any good jeweler suggestions?

Re: Greek Brides??
I got the Cross for my Godson's Christening from a jeweler on Steinway and 28th Ave. Greek guy. He has Crosses from Greece, including ones designed by Trianti. Want me to FM the address?

Re: Greek Brides??
Thank you!
I have to start looking for his cross and his outfit. I'm so excited but nervous too because I dont know 'Pistevo' - do you know it by heart? WIll they let me read it or will I have to memorize it? I am so horrible!

Re: Greek Brides??
Dont worry about it
I knew most of it though, had to learn it in sixth grade. Luckily, the Priest let us read it anyway.Where are you getting the clothes from? Is it a girl or a boy? I have a couple of recommendations for you if it's a boy!
