thats awesome. yeahhh im pretty excited... 5 more months! But i feel like i have not gotten much done, ohhhh so much to do! i have checked this site before but never thought of doing the forum thing until i had a question i needed help with.

Sorry I cant join you ladies....I went to the one they had in October. It was pretty decent, especially b/c FH isnt greek so he got to hear some stuff about the religion that he should know about. They also give you a bunch of material to read and a questionnaire you and FH have to answer...eventually you will go through that with the priest when you meet with him one on one. We didnt even do the questions yet!

Okay, neither me or my FH is greek...but his step dad is...and we will have a loooot of greek ppl at the wedding. As a courtesy (and bc it looks sooo much fun) I want to have some greek music played. The only problem is I really want a band who plays modern live music. Are any of you having a band that plays both modern music really well...AND greek music thrown in.

FH is Greek, I will be converting before the wedding, starting classes in April. We are getting married at St. Paraskevi in Greenlawn.
I really don't need that much help with planning since everything is pretty much done however, I still have to do my programs. And I will be turning to you girls for help.

couldnt get married in a greek church though no matter how much i wanted it cuz my wedding date is on the big greek holiday from 8-1 to 8-15. !!!

I wanted to hire a bouzouki 3-piece band to play intermittently throughout the reception, but the ones I found from queens wanted to charge $1000 plus! All in all, they'd prob end up playing a total of 30 minutes!!! I shouold learn the bouzouki! hehe....

Yeah 8/15 is a very big holiday but COngrats!!. There is this guy called Stein, something Stein and he plays the bouzouki, I forgot his whole name. I beleive he is on here under vendors, do a check. I will try to see if I can find him

i've heard them play before but really gave no recollection of what they sound like. try powerstation, and if they r not in ur budget, try Delta Band. they are reaally good too
