Groomsmen want to play dungeons and dragons on the wedding day!

My boyfriend's groomsmen have suggested playing D&D between the AM rehearsal and the pictures. They invited the rest of the D&D group to do this -- even though there are not in the wedding party.

Are they insane!?!

Who plays D&D on the day of a wedding?

Not to mention:
1. there is only about and hour and half of down time during the day.
2. Not all the groomsmen play, including one who is flying in from Chicago. What will he do during this time?
3. My mother planned a brunch for the wedding party, which these losers are planning on skipping to play this D&D game.
4. They have no sense of time management and will refuse to stop playing a game it 'they are in the middle' of something. We once left them in our apartment because they wouldn't stop, when I came home.
5. They were planning on bring their girlfriends down with them, so they won't have to come alone later. What are their girlfriends - who don't play -- going to do at this time?

LOL.... Like I said... if he doesn't have enough willpower to stop the game to get MARRIED.... consider it a BLESSING and do NOT marry this guy!

DJ pill - night before I wouldnt have a problem with. This is in the MIDDLE of the wedding day! I think this is so not a good idea.

I dont think they realize how much time they WONT have on their wedding day to play video games.

Theres 365 days in a year I can not see why theyd need to play on that one.

I think the groom sounds pretty darn selfish and a bit childish if he cannot realize that it is not appropriate to try and squeeze a fantasy game into a short time period between his OWN wedding rehearsal and ceremony. Whether or not the actual playing of the game is inappropriate or not (and I think it is), the fact is, his fiancee is extremely upset about this and that, in itself, should be enough of a reason for him to not play. I also think it's very rude for him to skip a brunch where there will be people who have traveled from near and far to celebrate HIS wedding day - he could be a little more gracious about the whole thing. It sounds like he has a LOT of growing up to do!

It's not just her guy that she has to worry about. ALL of the guys need to have their pictures taken and the LAST thing she needs to do right before pictures is end their game and round them up.

See this is exactly what I was referring above. This sounds very selfish saying... WAAAAA its MY DAY! MY DAY! Thats exaggerating it a little bit i know, but thats what I am talking about.

Um... no it isn't. Its THEIR day... and he should be able to entertain his friends.

I can understand there is a lot of things going on that day with rehersal and stuff.

But with everyone here saying RAH RAH! Drop the Gavel! Lay down the Law!

Be careful what you wish for. Thats all I am going to say.

he's just trying to pass by the time....very understandable... am i wrong for playing games on the most important day of my life?

girls have like 100 things to do and the guys just chill...

maybe playing a game will relax him instead of getting nevrous...

just sounds like the game will get carried away and he will be late and not focused.

Anyways.... personal insults aside... i'll be honest.

Go ahead and mention this to him and see what he says. Maybe he will just cave and say forget the D&D.

I'll admit the schedule looks real tight for the day. I just didn't like all the 'RAH RAH' 'LAW DOWN THE LAW' comments here that followed.

But if he insists on spending time with his groomsmen before the wedding even after mentioning it... he should be able to. Just like MCDO said... that time is important and shouldn't be judged.
