Hair Extensions for Wedding
Hi All,I've never had hair extensions before...my hair is pretty thick and long...but when it curls it gets shorter and i'm pretty sure i'll be wearing it down and curled/wavy. I want it to be long when curled.
Does anyone have recommendations or experiences with this? Do it or don't do it? What kind of extensions are best for this? Has anyone used temporary ones for their big day and did they stay well?
p.s. What hair stylist did you use/are you using and do they do them?
Thanks!

Re: Hair Extensions for Wedding
I have never done extensions before either but I will be the day of my wedding. I am fortunate that my niece does hair and make up so of course she will be doing mine that day. As for the extensions she recommended for me clip in, human hair extensions. I ordered them online from a company called Donna Bella. This is the company her salon orders them from. She said that the clip ins are easier because it doesn't take as long to put it. If you get the one's they sew in, you would have to get them done probably a week or 2 in advance to make sure they are done because it could take a while to have them put in. She is actually going to highlight them for me so they match the highlights in my hair that we'll be doing so it blends better.Hope this helps a little.

Definitely clip-in human hair, fusion / glue will damage your real hair - Sally's Beauty has a great supply - you can dye them (if needed) and they curl beautifully. Good luck!!

Re: Hair Extensions for Wedding
I know I don't have first hand experience with them but I am trusting my niece. She said as long as they are clipped in properly they will stay all day with no problem. I do have a friend that did them for her wedding and she said she had 1 or 2 fall out but for some reason I want to say she clipped them in herself but don't quote me on that. I didn't notice when your wedding is but if you have time, I would suggest getting a trial in early with your hair stylist and go over it thoroughly with her. You may be able to even buy an inexpensive set and have her try it for you so you can see / feel it for yourself.

Have your hairstylist put the clip-in extensions in for you. They will not fall out.If you have never had extensions before I would NOT do the bonded/sewn in weaves because it will be very uncomfortable. I got my Clip-Ins at Wa Beauty Supply in Westchester. The phone number is 347-621-5974

the clip ins won't fall out.
i would NOT recommend getting them sewn in- if you want something more than just the day of clip ins, go with the microlinks or microbeads. they're not damaging and stay in well. the tape method is probably the least damaging but those do fall out pretty easily when washing/styling. they wouldn't just fall out during your wedding though.

I used Jenn the Hair Genie--she is amazing. I gave her the money to buy the hair extensions for me and she does the clips herself. (You could easily buy the extensions on your own but I wasnt sure what to get and honestly didnt want to bother figuring it out lol) She matched my hair PERFECTLY to the real color and trust me there is nooooo way these things are falling out, in fact after hours of partying with them in --it took AWHILE to get them all out.I still have them and am using them for a wedding Im in in December.
Here are some pics!
This is me at my shower--clearly no extensions

I was going to use them and actually bought them at sallys but when I went for my hair trial, she said my hair was thick and long enough and that I didn't even need them. If your hair is already thick and long, and your stylist is talented enough, most likely you won't need them because my hair came out awesome and long and full once done. I didn't think it would because of the curling either.

The clips in will def stay in all night without a problem. I wear them all the time and have gotten my hair done with them multiple times and never had an issue. IMO the sewn in extensions are a little painful and don't blend as well. But, that could just be that the hair dresser didn't do them right.

Do the clip-ins stay well?

I wear Remy hair extensions all the time. Sallys Beauty Supplies sells them ($90-$120 depends on length). They are clip ins and they stay so well. I've had people tug on them all the time and they do not move. I curl them , wash them, dye them cut them. I treat them as if they were my own hair. They are beautiful. I plan on getting a new package for for my wedding so when I do my trials I will have them and put them in so she can style them in my hair with my trials.

Re: Hair Extensions for Wedding
I had them put in at my salon, Karma, in North Merrick on Jerusalem Avenue. I had the semi-permanent ones put it, so they last 4-5 months and then you need to decide if you want to maintain them and have the tightened. They were FANTASTIC. I have very thin short hair and my hair stayed all night long (and even into the morning!). See pictures below. My hair was a little shorter than shoulder length -- all the rest is real human hair extensions! See pics in album!

When I went for my trial she used her Remy ones and I loved the way they looked so I already bought them since Sally's was having a sale over Xmas. They are really beautiful!

I have a set of Remy clip in extensions that are very long and full. I love them. Wore them for our epics without a problem. I don't see how they could fall out. The clips are very secure.

I make my own clip ins using the Remy hair. One of my g/f's taught me and it's so easy! All you need to do is buy the tracks and sew on as many clips as you like. The more clips the more secure. I buy the hair in BK b/c it's super cheap. The best part is that they're re-usable and they don't damage your hair at all.Welcome New Vendors
