Hair Lady Just Cancelled!!!--Updated!!!

I cannot believe my hair lady--She just called and told me she forgot that she was on vacation the week of my wedding!!! And that she had some numbers that I can try to call to see if anyone can do my hair and my 10 bridesmaids!!!!! It's a month before the wedding!!! I am so upset right now!!!

I have reccomended her to so many people, and I am in total shock that she has done this to me---I don't know what I am going to do now----(BTW--she is a LIW Vendor)

After reading the first post about this vendor, I decided not to even have a trial with her (I was going to have two trials just to compare)... I just don't want to deal with someone like that! She called a few times but I never called back .

I was going to Jillian first anyhow for a trial in a few weeks, and I hear nothing but good things about her ...

Well, I have a trial booked with her at the end of the month...

I hope my FH doesn't book a weekend getaway for us at the last minute!!!

As for using the same excuse for 2 brides, one in Feb & one in April, that is a BUNCH OF HORSESH*T. Maybe she doesn't realize word of mouth gets her the business, AND WORD OF MOUTH CAN TAKE IT AWAY!!!!

i must say, i came to the same conclusion that a lot of people had, this is just plain bullsh*t...you cannot possibly have the same excuse for 2 different occassions...

maybe liw will also take her off the preferred vendor list just to make sure that she never gets a referral from the site

has anyone called her on this? i think that she should know that we know she has cancelled on 2 brides for 2 different times and that her behavior may hurt her business.

That is completely unacceptable excuse. and for a husband, knowing she is in a business that books dates involving other people events, is unexcusable and I can't understand a husband who would do that without asking their wife first when are you free.

BS IF YOU ASK ME! I would be so livid right now you could not tie my down. She better be good at make-up because if i saw her, she'd need a lot over it for her burial. Not cool to do to someone, especiall during such a stressful time and so last minute!

Boy am I cold & cranky this morning!

i was thinking about this last night, and i remembered what you said about how you were only going to be using her for makeup and she got upset, well i'll bet you that another bride booked her for both hair and makeup. it just seems too strange that she is going on two 'vacations' in such a short amount of time...hmmm, just something to think about. i think that is really awful either way!!!!

Your girls are so funny! I really think that she was upset that I was only going to use her for hair. But I made it clear to her in the beginnig that I may use someone else for makeup, and she was fine with that. I told her on Wednesday that I would only be using her for makeup, and she called the very next day to say that she 'forgot' about her vacaction, and she really needs to go b/c her son is giving her trouble??? (she tired to make me feel guilty!!) Weird, right??

I don't see why she wouldn't have told me on Wednesday about the vacation??

ok, this is mean, but soemone should call her on the day of your wedding pretending to ask about avaialbilty or a prices or something, just to see if she is really around.

Tourist, that's a fantastic idea - who's up for it?

Actually, I think that there might be even worse damages than losing all the business she's going to lose from these events.

I know Elena's prices are extremely reasonable, and are lower than many other places. My thoughts are that it's possible that by cancelling out on these brides (especially on short notice), she is costing them more money than they were planning to spend - Not only on trials, but on actual Day-of-Wedding expenses, including Mothers, Bridesmaids, etc. ETA: Is it possible that she might be liable for these added expenses?

Just a thought for these two brides, and for anyone else who has the misfortune of having their wedding during one of Elena's 'Vacations.'

How sad, I *was* going to call her for a trial this week. Guess not.

I talked to her the other day and was going to call her to book my trial the last weekend of the month. Well that's not going to happen. Its too bad, b/c I've heard so good reviews, but there is no way in hell that I'm going to deal with a vendor that may or may not go on vacation during my wedding, especially since its Labor Day weekend. This woman should really learn how to run her business better, since its based on referrals.
