Hair & Makeup Search (Help?!?!?!)

I am looking for hair and makeup stylists (can be 2 separate companies) for my wedding on 7/21/2013.

I have to leave by 2 for pictures so unsure what time they would need to start. Everything would be done in a hotel in Plainview, New York.

I am not sure how I should choose. Do I go to trials and then pick? How much do those normally cost?

- 1 Bride
- 7 Bridesmaids
- 2 mothers

Any recommendations and quotes would be great.

I'm using Sandra Baldini for makeup and Jenn the Hair Genie for hair. Both are under 125pp for bride and bridesmaids, which I thought was pretty reasonable. I think Sandra was 65 for bridesmaids (as long as you had 3+ people) and 90 for bride. Hair Genie is 80 for bridesmaids and 120 bride.

I took recommendations from people. For makeup I went on a trial back in February since I had never used her before. For hair, I used Hair Genie for another wedding so I knew I was going to book her without a trial.

Jacqueline from Bridal Styles is awesome but she books fast. My bridesmaid is a MUA and she did my makeup for my wedding and I got so many compliments. Her company is Yourfacemyart. If you are interested message me and I can sent you her #.

Dusti from Fire Monkey Hair Design and Beth from Beauty by Beth for makeup! So good - I too have 1 bride, 7 bridesmaids and 2 mothers...so reasonable.

I used Angela for hair and Donna for make up. Both so amazingly sweet and so talented. Reasonable prices and accomodating with time so I def recommend checking them out!

Hair & Makeup Search (Help?!?!?!)

After soooo many trials, I went with Gretchen of M.A.L.I. For both hair and make up. I just felt she was very professional and had a very good approach. She's not mentioned too often on here, but I think she is worth looking into.
She will have a team come depending on how many services you book for your party. I'm planning on paying for hair or makep for all my girls and mothers, so there will be a bunch of us!
