..and liked it? I bought two tickets to the national tour (its playing near us in DC) and i am so excited to see it..I LOVE the show.
However he has it in his head he will hate it (not a big fan of musicals but never saw a broadway show..).
SO...has anyones husband/fiance/father/brother seen the show and enjoyed it? If so let me know..I will make him read this thread and then be able to say SEE I TOLD YOU SO, lol...

DH is not one for musicals either..he did not care for it, he said hairspray was better..which I could not understand because I thought rent was better than hairspray

my FH HATES shows ... but he buys tix anyway and takes me, 'cause I love them.
We've seen 10 shows in the 5 years we've been together, and his #1 favorite was Rent. He liked that it was a rock opera, not quintessential 'broadway' music.
He even asked me to burn him a copy of the soundtrack - he really liked some of the music. I think 'ONe Song Glory' was his favorite.
He wants to see it again - the last time was saw it was June 2001.
FH is a couch, football, baseball, poker kinda guy, but surprisingly, he really enjoyed himself.

It was DH's first Broadway show. He enjoyed it- I mean, I don't think he'll really LOVE any Broadway shows to be honest w/ you (typical guy)- except Avenue Q!

OMG IM OBSESSED WITH RENT!!! I know all the words to the play by heart (pretty scary!!) FH loved it too but not as much as I did. im a little weird

I used to camp out for the $20 seats when it first opened on broadway...And i hear the national touring cast is phenomenal...I'm so excited!!

I saw Rent about 5 years ago. It was really good. It has alot of rock music in it.

DH and I love going to broadway shows. Monday is his birthday and I got him tickets to see Rent on the 18th....Can't wait!
Anyone seen Steel Magnolias on broadway. DH got me tickets a week ago for my birthday and we are going to see it on the 26th of march.

This is my husband's absolute favorite show!! He loved Rent and we have seen it at least 3 times. He even owns the soundtrack. Normally he doesn't like musicals at all, so it isn't like he is really into this stuff.

DH likes musicals, and he likes RENT a lot. He likes a lot of the older ones though, ones that I'm not even crazy about. My next project is to get him into Sondheim beyond Assassins.

DH doesn't like musicals either...we saw Rent and he said he loved it. It is much different than most shows...its not corny. Men like it because it has a rock touch and the set is much different than most shows...so are the costumes.
If he's homophobic, he may have issues...other than that...I bet he'll love it.
I saw it 4 times in NY -- my favorite show!

Brad likes musicals in general, and he really enjoyed RENT. It's so upbeat and full of energy that I think it's difficult for someone not to enjoy it.
