Did anyone show a picture of their wedding dress to their FH? What's the rule - is it they can't see it at all or just see you in it?

yes- a pic in the magazine...
but i'm not really superstitious either...we're pretty much used to sharing everything. gifts don't stayed wrapped long!

yes i showed him a pic! Which i dont care for 3 reasons 1. looks waaaayyyy different in person 2 it will look different on me 3 he will never in a million years remember what it looked like!!! come on ---he is a guy!!!! lol

I am waiting until that day. Not sure if it will be when I walk down the aisle or before. Depends on when we take pics.

He knows that its strapless. Otherwise he doesn't know anything, although he is dying to know. He snooped on my computer and found pics of me when I went dress shopping. Luckily there are no pics of me in 'the dress' because the batteries had died before I tried that one on.

It's been so hard keeping my dress details from my FI, I tell him everything and when I got it, I was so excited, and it was upsetting at the time that I couldn't share it with him. I'm hoping I can last until the day he can see it - it's killing me!

he has seen pictures from when i tried it on, on the computer but he tries to pass by it. i dont think he wants to see it.

NO WAY! That was the only secret I have ever successfully kept from DH and it was worth the look he had on his face the 1st time he saw me.

i waited till the ceremony to see her for the first time. it was magical
believe it or not..i could of seen the dress at anytime cause it was hanging in the other bedroom or on the computer because i maintain all the computer files...but i respect her stuff so i never saw

technically, the reason why the groom never saw the bride before the wedding has nothing to do with superstition.
waaaaaaayyyyy back when, when there were arranged marriages, parents wouldn't let the betrothed see each other until the bride showed up for one reason......so they wouldn't be upset at what the other person looked like and bail on the marriage! if the bride and groom showed up, they would get married but if the bride or groom was a no-show, the betrothal would fall apart. this was the parents' way of ensuring the wedding would go on.
just thought you'd be interested in that little tid-bit! i read about it in some wedding magazine or another.

I showed him the picture from the magazine, and when I went for my first fitting he saw the pictures, I am seeing him before the wedding so it doesnt matter. I dont think it make a diffrence.JMO

I haven't picked a dress yet BUT...
I took about five different dresses and showed him each one.
The one that I leaning towards he said...ooo, that's different.
But for the life of him, he probably doesn't even remember this whole thing.
Plus, I'm not a six 2, blond model so it'll obviously look different on me!

He hasn't seen it, though my mom did start describing it in front of the caterer and him! I don't care about superstition, and we're seeing each other before the ceremony anyway to sign the ketubah. I just want something to be a surprise that day!

No, I want him to be surprised when he sees me. It's strapless and he would never expect me to wear strapless, so I'm pretty sure he will be surprised. Plus, I'm also a bit old fashioned and don't want any bad luck.
