have i waited too long to......

Did i wait too long to have my E-party??
It is june 9th
It is already set and i am happy i am having one.
I have been engaged since 2004 but at the time we didnt have the $$ for it and the fact that we knew we would have a long engagement we figured we didnt have to have it so early, then have people wondering 'what happened to the wedding?' I have recieved some NO rsvps and some of them werent very nice not nasty but just the 'tone' in emails have not been very nice. Now i am starting to feel bad because some family members have said no and my Brother is having his party in AUG i am afraid they wont go to his now!

What do you think?

I am not gonna cancel the party i just wanted some other insight. My parents said they dont think it matters when u have it.

yeah i agree...besides the ones that u really care about/ closest to u will come regardless of when u have it! and those are the people that matter the most!!!

i love how there are 2 people who said yes but didnt state why they say yes lol!!!!!!!

someone is always going to have something to say. don't worry about it. enjoy your special time and forget whatever anybody else says.

I have learned through much chatting and definitely experience with certain events that

family will always have something to say....whether it be negative or postive...i dont think i ever have not heard a comment from my dad's side of the family - usually it is negative- about an event we have had.

like my sweet 16- oh its a friday night? or oh we arent allowed to bring the 3 yr old cousin- NO it was from 8-12pm NO KIDS haha

Now my engagement party I have heard comments already and I just literally sent out the invites!!

But my thing is they will always have something to say but I learned to just ignore it!!! It is my wedding I am doing what I want- if I decide to get married on a friday night or Sunday afternoon or Sunday night- IT IS MY DAY AND IF YOU DONT LIKE IT DONT COME!!!

haha good luck though with everything i am sorry you are dealing with this....

I think everyone will have a great time. Anyway when you think about it, you wouldn't have registered in 2004 and have a wedding in 2008 and some people like to buy gifts so you didn't wait too long.

if you are feeling a bad 'vibe' it may be bc of the party and not the time frame.

NOW I DON'T AGREE WITH THIS AND I HAD AN E DINNER AND ENJOY E PARTIES but there are people - including people in my family that think that e parties are just a grab for money and don't approve of them. . . my own brother did not attend mine for this reason - he also wore jeans to my cousin's ( he was the BM) for the same reason.

but seriously don't worry about it - people will always have something to say so boogie down!

True true that people will ALWAYS find something to complain about!! I am just having my eparty next weekend but I really just want to have a nice BBQ for all my friends and FH's friends and our families to hang out before the big day....you know what I always say...if they don't agree- don't come!!
