Westbury Manor - The place is immaculate. But I ran into a couple of problems. As we were directed to go upstairs for the cocktail hour, the other wedding party was making their way down. Since it's a narrow staircase we were told to wait until everyone from the other party made their way down. I thought they meant a couple of people. FIFTEEN minutes later it seemed the entire party made their way down the stairs and I had to wait for them. Not a good first impression. Cocktail hour was DELICIOUS!!!! I cant even begin to explain to you how good the food was. But the cocktail hour room, although very elegantly decorated was not suited for 100 people. We were crammed in like sardines. Clearly not enough tables for everyone to sit, to the point where people were waiting on line just to sit down and eat. Then we were told to go the ballroom which by the way was beautiful!!!! A really nice sized room for the guests she had. And if anyone is getting married there this is by far the most important information I can pass along to you. Tell your banquet manager you want someone at the door AT ALL TIMES!!!! Her room was right off the terrace in the front. All guests from both weddings were told that was the smoking area. When the guests from the other wedding made their way back in, they first crashed my friends wedding then made their way back to the other wedding. VERY RUDE!!!! This happened AT LEAST 5 TIMES!!!!!
The food was really good and the service was excellent. The waitstaff was very polite. Overall, it was a great experience!!!!
Thanks for that info on WM

Why do you write that everything is 'silly'? I'm kind of failing to understand what that means. If you didn't like the decor, that is your opinion but reading that things are silly doesn't make sense. I've been to floral terrace and thought the murals were beautiful. I do undestand people write their honest opinions on this board, but sometimes feel the opinions are a little much and insulting. I guess to each their own.
I agree with you. There is a big difference between saying, 'the murals are silly' versus 'the murals are not my style'. The first is rude. The second reflects someone's personal taste.
But, to be honest, the whole comment could probably be left out. Brides who consider these halls already know what they look like. I think the purpose of this thread was to report back on the quality of food and service, as well as cleanliness of the hall. And, of course, to hear some *positive* experiences. We should all be supportive while letting brides know about some things that they should look out for. I don't think we need to post our vents about other people's weddings here. Nor do we need to just bash away about the halls we've been to.
I find it sad that someone could go to multiple weddings in LI and focus so heavily on negative things.
Believe me when I say, NO ONE'S wedding is perfect, including our own. I hope everyone remembers that when they talk about other weddings.

Leonards (06/05)
The staff was very attentive to our table and our napkins were continually refreshed and re-folded! The penne a la vodka was delicious, as was the chateaubriand which I ordered. The best part of the night was definitely the viennese hour. They had everything - Haagen Das ice cream, a chocolate fountain with the BIGGEST strawberries I have ever seen, zeppoles, giant fresh canolli, fresh chocolate chip cookies, bananas foster - I could go on forever! I highly recommend going for the Viennese to all of the future Leonard's Brides!!! A great wedding also!!!![]()
I was there in January and after watching everone enjoy the viennese hour sooo sooo much I added it to my hown wedding!
The service was outstanding. They made accomodations for my sister who had her 5 month old with her (she would have never brought the baby but it was her hubbys families wedding which our entire family was invited to as well, we love her in laws).
The couple had not put a veg. dish on the menu and since I do not eat meat they brought out a special plate for me even after I insisted they didn't have to.
Our waiter was hysterical, he made friendly small talk with us all night and was on top of everything.
All in all it was a great wedding and it made me SO HAPPY that I had booked Leonards.

Chateau Briand (4/2005):The CH was incredible! So many choices and all of it very yummy. There was a martini bar and the guy serving them was hysterical.
I loved the modern decor of the hall and the reception room was also beautiful.
I food was so good and the service was too. I remember the cake being really delicious too.

labor day weekend 2002
I went to a wedding at Villa Lombardi's. I thought it was very very very overdone. too much everything. the cocktail hour was enormous, my FI loved it, I thought it was disgusting, the dinner was not served until aafter 8, the cake until after 12. It was so typically 'long island bride'... plus there were at least 3 other weddings at the same time. It was huge! If that is your style.... then you will love it. very over the top, very showy, very much of everything.
Disgusting?? hmmm. like Suven stated above, it's one thing to post an opinion, quite another to be rude about it.

Metropolitan- attended 12/31/03..(new year's wedding). Beautiful hall and I looooved the food. The room layout was wonderful..tables weren't crammed together. My only minor complaint was that there were nowhere enough seats for half the people at the CH. Some people prefer it this way because it encourages people to mingle but personally I prefer to be seated while eating. All in all it was very nice. HTH.

August 2003: Russo's on the Bay. It's on a busy road but once you're inside you don't even realize it. SO MUCH FOOD. I have never seen a cocktail hour like that. Huge dance floor.August 2002: Sunset Harbor. Nice view. Cocktail hour was good. Staff was attentive.

Metropolitan was awesome. I wasn't there for a wedding but a business party. I loved the decor and the food. The service was really good too.

The last two weddings I've been to were at:Villa Lombardi's &
Floral Terrace
Both have really, really good food!!!
Floral Terrace is also great b/c they only have one wedding at once. The Bridal Suite is sooooo nice.

Crest Hollow Country Club - Summer 2005...CH food was very yummy especially the mussles and clams in the marinara sause. Dinner was great and the VH was awesome. My favorite was the chocolate mousse cake yum!Bridgeview Yacht Club-Spring 2005 The food was delicious...it was a buffet style wedding so there were a few passed appetizers then about 6 choices for the dinner buffet. I of course tried each one and they were all very yummy. I liked the room...the floor was black and white and the ceiling was tent like with black and white draping, very simple and pretty. There was also an outdoor bar right next to the room which was nice.
Westbury Manor - Summer 2004 The CH was outside which was gorgeous but it was so hot out! The seafood boat was the best...it was constantly being refilled. Dinner was good and the reception room (the manor room I think...the big one) was beautiful. I ate the cake and thought it was also very yummy!

I went to a wedding at Snug Harbor in Staten Island. The room is gorgeous. The ceilings are high and may have interfered with the DJ; It was hard to understand him at times. Also, the food was excellent!!

I went to a wedding at the westbury manor in a snow storm. The food at the cocktail hour was good, but the dinner food was just ok. Place is average compared to others. I have been to two weddings at the jericho terrace not a big fan of the food, and the fact that they have many weddings going on at once. My wedding was at Majestic Gardens amazing food and scenery other two places cant even compare.Welcome New Vendors
