Re: Have You Been to a Wedding at? (Updated Today)
Winter 2006..Fox Hollow...A++++ Absolutely outstanding!!!! Everything was excellent! I know there is more than 1 wedding at a time there but we never ever saw another bride...the staff made you feel like you were the only wedding! The CH was great....so many choices and I really like the room..it was upstairs. The reception was in the Winter Garden room...my only compliant was that it was drafty...BUT it was a very cold day that day and the ceiling are extremely high.
They got the chair cover thrown in and it added so much to the room....it just glowed.
Dessert was awesome...I believe it was a mini vieneise (sp???)
The bridal attendant was so attentive and helped the bride and groom with everything.

Re: Have You Been to a Wedding at? (Updated Today)
Flowerfields (Aug. 2005)- This place was incredible - I love the CH room with the bridge and gold fish pond. Also, for the ceremony the deck on the water is pretty. The food was good.North Ritzs Club (July 2005)- let me just say OMG the food is out of control. The CH had so much food - it was so good. Everything is up dated.
Fox Hollow ( 3 years ago ???) - We were in a smaller room. I don't remember a lot from this wedding except I wish we had been there during the day because the grounds looked nice, but I couldn't really see them in the dark. Also, while the room we were in was nice - at the end of the night I saw the other room and it was much prettier (IMO).
Brooklyn Botanic Gardens (Aug. 2006) - This place was right out of a movie set - very sureal and magical. CH was crazy next to the lily ponds - it was magnificent. Highly recommend. The only draw back was that the bar was outseide (which was nice) but a lot of people hung out outside all night leaving the dance floor empty.
Bridgeview yacht club (May 2006)- well I had my engagement party here and I loved it. It is right on the water. It can accommodate 2 to 3 weddings, it has 1 large enclosed tent that can hold 400 people and 2 smaller rooms. My party was hosted in the small upstairs room. Affordable!!! Food - while the guests said it was good - I think there was nothing special about it - except the tiramasu - that was fabulous.
I noticed Deseversky is not on the list - has anyone been there?

When I was at Giorgio's this past weekend, there was a doorman, someone passing out champagne and as for the seating, their is not only indoor, but they seat for like 100 outside on the deck! And the food was incredible!!!! My family owns restaurants, and this food blew ours away! Everything at Giorgio's was amazing. I made an appointment to go for info for my wedding.
THANKGOD!! I have been getting so nervous with all the negative food reviews about Giorgio's because all I've ever heard was how fantastic the food was!

The Inn at East Winds Feburary 2006 Friday Night---- I was a bm in this wedding and they were very accomodating. The food was good and building is very pretty. However it was very confusing for the guests to know which room to go to. There was nobody to direct you to the ceremony room etc. That being said....I had a great time and it is the only wedding I have ever been to where they come around and ask if you want seconds.Fox Hollow -- September 2000 Sunday Afternoon It was nice but too many weddings going on at once. It was a second marriage so they reserved a smaller room with was very croweded. The food was good.
Flowerfield ---September 2000 Saturday Night The best wedding I have ever been to The place was beauiful, the food amazing. I was a BM in this wedding that the staff was very helpful. There were about 215 guests and it never felt croweded. I would recommend it to anyone. I am getting married at Land's End which is owned by Lovin Oven also!
Smithtown Landing CC May 2000 Sunday Night--
Very nice and simple. It rained so the ceremony was inside and very pretty. Nice room and good food.

Oh I forgot!!!John Anthony's September 2003 Saturday Night...Very nice good food pretty room. The ceremony was outside and it was very hot! There wasn't a great view of the water sitting down and you could not here what was going on during the ceremony. I know that it has changed owners and is now the venitian yacht club...my sister is getting married there in June of 2007....I'm sure it will be great :)

I forgot another one! Port Jeff Country Club....Now Lombardi's on the sound. July 2001 sunday afternoon.....it was very hot! The ceremony was outside and there wasn't any relief from the sun. However the room was beautiful and the food was good. The view was absolutely gorgeous!

Woodbury CCI thought the grounds and rooms were beautiful. The ceremony and the cocktail hour by the pool were gorgeous. I was not impressed with the food.
Anyone been to a wedding at Glen Island Harbour Club?
I would really appreciate feedback, even if it is negative. That way I could try to fix the program before it occurs.

I went to a wedding last year at Glen Island. It's beautiful. The ceremony room is spectacular with an amazing view. The wedding I saw was at sunset, and watching the sun set in the background with the couple getting married in the foreground was really great. The cocktail hour room is really nice too, and I loved that people could go outside too during the CH. CH food was great. The ballroom has a good sized dance floor and the room was well proportioned. I don't remember the dinner, to be honest, but they did a viennese dessert thing, and it was amazing!!!

I went to a wedding at Glen Island last fall. It was beautiful and the food was very good, especially the CH. The service was pretty good overall.
I have two main complaints that you may want to check with Glen Island before your wedding. Our entire table was dancing when the wedding cake slices were served. We saw the slices being put on the table, but we thought we would go ahead and finish the song before heading back to eat it. By the time we come back (literally only about 5 minutes later), the tables were already cleared. Someone at our table asked the waiter who served our table where the cakes went, and he said that he cleared them because he thought no one wanted them, even though it was only left on the table for 5 minutes and no one on the table had touched them because everyone was dancing.
The other complaint was that when the waiters cleared the tables, they threw away our favors, too. The bride was VERY upset about this because they did this at a bunch of tables, and it was very obvious that these were favors, not trash. So a lot of the guests ended up going home without favors because they were thrown away.
I hope this helps!! I don't mean to be negative, but I just want to be honest so you can watch out for these things. Overall it was a beautiful wedding and a gorgeous place!

Watermill - April 2006This venue is beautiful! They had the ceremony there, which takes place in the downstairs ballroom on the dancefloor (curtains separate the rest of the room so you can't see the tables all set up or anything). The CH was upstairs and it was amazing!! There was SO much food and plenty of tables to sit down (they had about 200 ppl). We went back downstairs for the reception. The downstairs room is set up so beautifully. The dancefloor spans the entire length of the room and the tables are on either side. The service was GREAT... our napkins were folded and place settings were nice & neat every time we came back to sit down from dancing. They always seemed to know when we needed another drink! The food was excellent, no complaints there.
Overall this is a wonderful venue... anyone getting married there has nothing to worry about!!!

Re: Have You Been to a Wedding at? (Updated Today)
Okay, we had ours at the Watermill in the upstairs room (Astor) and our CH was in the Bostonian Room...which I loved. I'm a little biased but we went to a wedding there recently and I loved it but here's one tiny thing I didn't like:The CH was in the room/space where the old restaurant used to be and I didn't like it at all; the food was wonderful as it always is but the room is kinda dreary--very different from the room we had ours in, which I found very classy in a New England, nautical kind of way. DH also said he's glad we didn't attend this wedding before selecting the Watermill, because it might have turned us off (if we didn't know about the other rooms for CH). I hope this doesn't upset anyone...certainly NEVER my intention. Just didn't like the room, since I'm all about ambience!
