So, I was out with my friends last night and one girl had said that she had just gone to a Saturday day wedding and how weird it was to be drinking during the day and such. Little did she know that that is exactly what I am doing, and I didn't tell her after she said that. She is not someone who I am inviting to my wedding, but needless to say it bothered me and upset me. I want to hear some feedback from you girls if you have been to Saturday day weddings and/or are having one and what you think about it. I hate second guessing myself with all of these wedding details, especially the ones that I can no longer do anything about to change! AHHH! TIA :)

Re: have you been to/having a Saturday day wedding?
Everyone always has something negative to say. You are getting married at Giorgios so there are some pros to having it in the afternoon. First everyone will get to see all of the great views and enjoy the place. You have to go with what you want and don't worry because I am sure next week she will complain about having to go to a Friday night wedding when she had work all day.

I've been to a Saturday day wedding...everyone was dancing, drinking and having a good time. It really didn't bother anyone that I noticed.

I went to one last week. It was a little bit weird for me to be dancing & drinking during the day. Plus the room had a lot of windows and they were trying to get a club kind of feel--but there was sunlight shining through.

FromGtoC is right...everyone is always gonna have something negative to say...I was in a Saturday day wedding...and we danced, drank, and had an amazing time...the ballroom had no windows, so we couldnt tell what it was doing outside!!! Plus, when it was over, we all hung out at the hotel and drank even more! It was awesome...dont let negative Nancy's get you down,,

you will always find someone w an opinion that will make u doubt yurself, trust in your image! I happened to go to my venue today to look around again and actually thought to myself that a day wedding there was beautiful. it is your day and your pocket and in the end ur dream coming true; ditch the negative people and ust say thank you and nod your head and move on!!
hope we were all able to help u a bit

I went to a day wedding it ended at 6. Unless you looked at your watch you really didn't notice the time. When it ended we all went back to the hotel bar and the bride and groom came later. It was an all day party. Don't let her get you down. Your wedding will be great.

I'm having a Sat. day wedding. Reception will be over at 6:00 and we will then be having a party at the hotel for the rest of the night.
Don't worry what others think, do what makes your FH and yourself happy.

I went to a day wedding and no one even noticed the time. We had so much fun eating, drinking, dancing, & taking pictures. Don't let negative people ruin your time.

Re: have you been to/having a Saturday day wedding?
I had a day wedding! My guests partied like it was a night wedding and most of them stayed over. The rest were happy to have the opportunity to leave and do their own thing without being 'forced' to stay
It's what you and FH want for YOUR wedding!!! People will have their opinions but if you want it, then that's all that matters...
BTW the guests that drank the most, planned to do that and booked a room form the room block well in advanced...

Re: have you been to/having a Saturday day wedding?
Depends on the venue, Giorgios is beautiful during the day. We don't drink so for us, it would not matter day or night. We are having a daytime wedding but not with open bar. The dancing should be ok but I recommend not doing crazy lights on the dance floor or too much unnatural toned uplighting. Maybe mixing up the music to be more happy fast dance songs instead of dark club sounding. Maybe throw in some swing or big band.

I was at a Saturday daytime wedding at giorgios last may. It was one of the best weddings I've been to. I got wasted and danced the whole time lol

This is what we did! And everyone had a blast and said it was one of the best weddings they have been to. They ate and danced and drank and it was great...and then we did an after party for drinks...so it went into the evening.

I've been to a Sat day wedding and loved it. You're not going home half dead afterwards and if you want the party to continue there's usually always someone saying, 'lets go here afterwards.' Ppl get so caught up in what their own perceptions of what they think everything is 'supposed' to be.

I guess maybe it's just me but I don't know if I'd want to hang out with people after the wedding.... LOL
