Have you ever booked a service after only seeing one vendor?

Have you ever booked a service after only seeing one vendor?

Fh and I have been talking about seeing different vendors and I personally would prefer not to run around to 10 different places getting quotes. I love the internet because I can see everything and then decide if it is worth while. FH seems to want to look at 5 vendors for each service, but he expects me to call them and schedule. He thinks that I will do all the research and tell him when we are going. Is it bad to not want to see a bunch of vendors? I told FH that if he wants to see a bunch of vendors, then he can come here and start doing the research.

I have an appt with a florist tonight. If it goes well and we click, I don't want to look any further. I have seen the work posted here and heard wonderful reviews from you ladies. Why look at 5 places to only go back to the one who might be booked then anyway?

I booked most of my vendors after only looking at one. My FI and I decided that if we clicked with them and their work was good then we would book them. We booked our videographer, DJ and Florist after only seeing one of each.

We booked out DJ with only seeing one vendor. He was wonderful, and we felt there was no need to see anyone else, since his prices were comparable to other DJ's.

We booked our band without checking any other out. Hope that wasn't a bad decision!

Actually, I did that with all of my vendors except for my photographer ( I met with two)! The florsit, DJ, ceremony musicians, cocktail hour pianist and vocalist, make-up, peerson designing my programs, etc. I have even booked vendors over the phone and net without ever meeting them.

I basically did the same thing as you, I'd check out their site, search here for reviews, check with the BBB, etc. By the time I'd meet with them, I pretty much knew I was going to book them. This worked very well for me, I am very happy and confident with my vendors so far. FI is happy he doesn't have to go vendor hopping every weekend!

I see no point in going from vendor to vendor if you know what you want, have done your research, and are comfortable with them. Besides that, I don't like to clutter my brain with a million choices! When it comes to the best vendors, the differences are subtle, and often a matter of personal preference anyway IMO.

I think if you click with the vendor and you already know that you like their style, then that's fine. I knew ahead of time who I wanted to book, so I didn't look around at all.
If you're comfortable, don't keep looking.

I booked the ff services after seeing one vendor:

Photographer
Videographer
DJ
Invitations
Catering Hall

I agree that if you click well with the vendor there is no need to look further especially if they give you something reasonable pricewise. I didn't feel the need to look at 5 photographers and 5 videographers, etc

Go with your gut feeling when you meet them.

We did that with 2 of our vendors so far - the band and photographer. We knew of their work because some of our siblings have used them for their weddings.

I think if you click with a vendor, then there is no reason to stress yourself with shopping around.

Yes, we booked our Video(Bellarino) and Photo(Ariana Studio-Ozzy) and they were the only ones we saw!

I booked a couple of my vendors that way as well. Go with your gut feeling - if you like them personally and there work then there is no reason not too.

I haven't done that. In fact, i've seen way too many vendors. I'm always afraid I'll find a better deal as soon as I put a deposit down!

ia lso think it helps to negotiate if you know what other vendors are offering

I only did that with our florist. Once I met with Flower Michele there was no reason to look any further.

We booked our florist on the spot, but I had seen their work before. We looked at only 2 photographers but knew after our first appointment that we were going to book with them, and only went to the second appointment because they were scheduled for the same day and it was on our way home.

Our DJ was the fist and only one we saw. WE clicked right away! If you have a good feeling and you like what examples of services you see....go for it.

I did all my research online. I checked out all of their websites, and got feedback from the ladies on the site.

I then narrowed it down to about 2-3 and FH picked which one he liked the best, according to their websites and recommendations.

Photo-saw 1
DJ- saw 2 at showcases
Video- friend of the family
Flowers- Doing them myself
Limo- saw 1 on recommendations

I think all vendors provide the best service that they can! They all at times will get good and bad reviews. I think if you click with the people, and you like what they offer for their prices, go for it. Otherwise you will be driving yourself crazy running all over the island and wasting your weekends!

We booked our DJ after only meeting with him, we clicked wiht him, and we were so happy with their service.

I had also looked for video, but only with the photographers, so Wild Rose was the first Videoographer I went to, and booked with tehm on the spot.
