Have you ever booked a service after only seeing one vendor?
Original post by xjulietx
Fh and I have been talking about seeing different vendors and I personally would prefer not to run around to 10 different places getting quotes. I love the internet because I can see everything and then decide if it is worth while. FH seems to want to look at 5 vendors for each service, but he expects me to call them and schedule. He thinks that I will do all the research and tell him when we are going. Is it bad to not want to see a bunch of vendors? I told FH that if he wants to see a bunch of vendors, then he can come here and start doing the research.
I have an appt with a florist tonight. If it goes well and we click, I don't want to look any further. I have seen the work posted here and heard wonderful reviews from you ladies. Why look at 5 places to only go back to the one who might be booked then anyway?

Re: Have you ever booked a service after only seeing one vendor?
I think I will go with my gut. I had been to enough weddings that when the time came to look for a hall, I narrowed it down by price, location, minimum and reputation and chose Westbury Manor the night we walked in. We were supposed to see three photographers and booked the second one. I knew what gown I wanted for two years and just tried on a bunch to humor my mom and went with the one I had wanted all along.
I hate being given too many choices. I find it overwhelming. I don't want to run around. If I like the florist tonight (and based on what you ladies have said, I will) then I will book and not worry about price shopping to save $200.
Thank you ladies for your support and reassurance that you have chosen after seeing just one vendor.
Feel free to continue sharing your snap decision stories...

we went on the very good recommendation of a friend who has helped many of her friends plan their weddings to Queens Bridal Center in Mineola.
Granted they are not like Patken or Duet but we live in the Bronx, didn't want to drive out every weekend to LI to look at vendors so we booked Queens Bridal. To be honest if I had joined LIW before booked maybe I wouldn't have just booked after seeing only them, but I liked what they did and the price was right. I've since heard more good things so I don't think I made a mistake. We booked them for photo and video.

Yes... we only looked at one photographer and videographer. 3 bands, 3 florists and a bunch of catering halls.
Why waste time if you know what you want and you've found it!

I booked Wild Rose without having seen anyone else,I did all of my resaerch on vendors online to save me from running all over, then narrowed it down..went to wild Rose and knew I loved them. Certain things you'll just feel good about!! It feels good to book vendors....Good luck to you!!!

Ditto a lot of the ladies here.
I booked all my vendors to date with one visit.
I shopped my dress at a few places (4 total) but my vendors were sorta 'either I like you or I dont' Each one I researched here and asked really tough and basically mean questions via the vendor board. If they stood through my heat and were spoke well about from other brides, I saw them... so far they've all been wonderful!

I only shopped around for the hall, and photographer. I knew who I was using as my florist before we got engaged. The other vendors, I'm very much like you- don't want too many options. I went to 4 dj's- booked the first one I saw... and my dress- had it made, but had it picked out for 2 years I couldn't have been any happier w/ any of my vendors!

I booked all my vendors with only one visit to them. I booked my band and they were the only one's I visited. My hall and photographer were the 3rd place I went to. If you like the vendor, go for it and if you feel like they would fit with your wedding, why waste time and energy???

Yes!!!! I booked my florist that way too. I was so tired of looking at fifty million vendors I was like this is it. Plus, if you work fulltime-who has the time to race to these places. I was like you--I did my research online from this site and narrowed it down!! Good luck

I did that with all except for the hall. From this website and a bridal show, I knew exactly who and what I was looking for with the rest of the vendors I have booked.

I booked many of them after only meeting one. I think if you like what you see then why not go with it!

The beauty about getting feed back from brides on this board is that you are able to visit a vendor once and be totally happy about it.

the florist, I saw two just to check the price, and we took the second one. The dj we did see three, and I took the third. photogropher, first one, Hall first one. I think like you said, if you click you do, or if your not sure about the cost, or company you get a second or third opinion.

I just need to confirm with FH that he is ok with the decision (don't see why he shouldn't be) and then I will tell you ladies about my vendor choice.
Let's just say this. I won' t be the first person (or second or third) to book this vendor after only meeting him and no one else

Re: Have you ever booked a service after only seeing one vendor?
My dress! I only went ot one salon to try dresses on. I picked the 5th dress and tried on and bought it that day. I have no regrets and didn't ever feel the need to spend days and days trying on a million dresses. The dress 'felt' like me or my personality if that makes any sense and I knew it was the one. I also only saw one band and one videographer. We shopped around for florists and halls. I had tried to see some more photographers but didn't feel the need to.

So far I have booked all of my vendors without seeing others. We felt pretty confident with our vendors, and didn't want to have to go to ten different places, I think it's as easy as you make it out to be!!

Me too, Flower Michele was who I visited last night and booked him. After reading all of the posts here from people who booked their florist after only seeing him (and realizing that it was John they were referring to) I decided that you can't all be wrong.
