Make sure you are drinking alot of water, and getting enough calcium and Vitamin A.
Also try not to drink too much LI water (I swear there is a correlation cause when I was in college I had the best nails (Maine), but as soon as I returned to LI my nails started to chip again).

I don't get enough calium
and I don't drink LI water- poland spring only
I know I should take a vitamin- but I almost chocked last time- it freaks me out- I have to get a pill cutter
it might be the change of seasons- b/c all summer I was fine

Definitely...VITAMINS! Mine have been so strong since I've been taking a daily vitamin. I HATE takin pills, but forced myself.

Beth - whenever one of my nails breaks I put on a tip with a wrap. They only need to be 'taken care of' every other week, so upkeep isn't a big problem. Right now I have two tips.

Beth, I have trouble swalling pills too that are large...I started taking Viactiv (calcium chews) 2 weeks ago & they are wonderful...They come in different flavors, I happen to love the caramel

I second Viactiv. They have calcium chews and multi-vitamins. They are the size of a Starburst candy (but not as sweet), but definitely edible!
Besides, since they look like candy I feel like I'm indulging when I shouldn't, and it's good for me!

Could very well be the weather...or stress. I used to love Sally Hansen Maximum Growth. It goes on clear with a hint of pink.

Agree on the Viactiv as well. Also, my mom said that eating jello (sugarfree) is supposed to help too. Not sure if this is true though...
