I went for my hair trial today and my hair kept getting so frizzy so they recommended a brazillian blowout. I'm a little nervous because I don't want to lose my curls. Plus I literally had a breakdown over the expense.
Any thoughts?

They mentioned 2 different ones to me. One that you can wash your hair the same day but it requires more upkeep, and one where you can't wash your hair for 4 days

They both 'claim' to have the same natural components, but yet the Brazilian has tons of fumes and is more toxic (hence my ER visit on sunday with 105 fever due to chemical inhalataion) and the kertain is a protein. However they both contain toxic carcinogens because in reality the heat applied to seal it in is what causes them to take effect and that is what makes your hair straight. It's just some have more than others. I have done the keratin before about 4 times and never had a problem...and brazilian blow out was a disaster. Trying to contact the FDA regarding the product...and trying to get my moneh back from the salon.
Don't risk it.....because you never really know the quality of product.

PS Keratin is a protein treatment! I dnot think it is as harmful as the Brazilizan one.
Yup that's true!!!
You can do it on highlighted hair also. I've heard really bad things about the at home Organix Keratin it completely ruined my friends color. Best thing you can do is some research and find a professional that knows what their doing and will use one that is the least harmful, it really does work well though so I would say if you have super frizzy hair (I do) it's worth it.
Omg I used the one from Organix, but it didn't ruin my color. If it did I would have had a heart attack. Maybe it was ok because my hair is dyed dark with no highlights. Well I guess I will go to the salon and get it done from now on.

so my hair is CRAAAAAAAZY curly
i loved getting a keratin treatment cause it calmed the curls down and made straightening so easy, any my hair was super shiny
you keep body, but lose the frizz
HOWEVER WARNING WARNING WARNING
I did have flat hair, you have to make sure to tease and add volume when blowing out your hair.
it washes out in 3 months so ... if your worried about 'losing' your curl.... it's really only a 3 month tamer.

I put it on overnight, with a shower cap and then wash it out in the AM
it's amazing and while a little jar is 20 bucks ( at ulta ) it does wonders to my hair.
again, im puerto rican.... no one has curls like i do lol
