HELP! Indoor photo location needed...

I need to find places where I can take pictures INDOOR for my January wedding!! I have looked at Westbury Gardens and didn't like the inside for pictures. Does anyone know of anyplace else that you can rent to take pictures inside????

PLEASE HELP!! I am running out of ideas. Either Nassau or Suffolk counties are fine.

The only one I can think of is at the EAB Plaza across from Nassau Coliseum. They have a pretty nice waterfall scenery with lots of greenery in the lobby. You would have to inquire with them prior to the date in order to get a permit to take pictures there.

Thanks for everyone's help and for the great suggestions! It is really hard finding somewhere to take pictures inside... I guess we'll have to take pictures inside at the catering hall and/or freeze outside!! If anyone else reads this and comes up with any place I could check into I would greatly appreciate it!!

We're having the recepition at Jericho Terrace - and praying for a mild day so we can take some pictures outside (Jan. & Feb. weren't too bad this year).

Phyl-you are having your hair done on Sat? Are you getting married on Sat or Sun? Are you having the hair done the day before??

I am having the exact same problem. The limo company I hired is in Bklyn and the reception is on LI. They won't throw in the comp car home. We don't want to hitch a ride with family members as this will probably be the first peace we'll have alone together all day.

nicole - I am also getting married at the Jericho Terrace July 9th 2000. There aren't many brides on this site getting married there. I was there in December and it was decorated nicely. If the weather is not good, I will be taking pictures inside as well.

we brides are full of all kinds of amazing abilities...I'm glad you found a solution to your hair dilemma. What time is your wedding, perhaps it is doable to find someone to do the make up if you go to them, somewhere near the hotel. Whatever you do, plan it so you feel worry free that day, the peace of mind is worth it. When is your wedding date? Location? I'm sure you've listed it before but with so many of us coming & going...

I Will give you all the details - hopefully all good. I am not even sure what the room is called. It is not the small room, and not the larger room wiht the big dome ceiling. It has high arched ceilings. How about yours?

if you havn't booked a photographer yet- some of them have studios for bad weather, such as Jo Von. the owner has an estate too that I heard he lets clients use. They were nice, in the middle of remodeling their photo gallery (like a museum I guess). I'm sure other photographers have studios as well. Stacy

Have you ever been to the Planting Fields Arboretum in Oyster Bay? They have a Camellia House which starts blooming in January. There are also other indoor locations.

Dear Amy, et. al. There really is a difference between offering an opinion and being adversarial. David offered his credentials for a reason + I'll offer mine for the same reason. I'm 48 years old, married for 13 years, have two incredible children, and run a successful business that showcased a style of photography 10+ years ago that is just now becoming popular. The reason the background is offered is to give a sense of perspective. There really is a certain amount of knowledge that is gained from years of experiance. The conception that I don't have enough to do and spend my time on this board is simply a misconception. I like to take a break every once in a while and see if anyone is needing advice about any issues that I might be of help for. Believe me, if there is anything missing in my life it's that I'm too busy + don't have enough free time. 15 minutes a day on this board does not exactly qualify as anything but a diversion from a busy life.

When suggestions or advice are offered, they're done with good intentions to help people going through a difficult and stressful and confusing time in their lives, where my experiances might be helpful and appreciated. That is all. I've been contributing to this board for about a year now and I don't shy away from controversy. I've been a rebel in the wedding industry by being more avante garde than most of the studios + they are just now starting to catch on. You don't need to hire me to ask me a question. I'm not looking for business by participating on the board. However, I might have something to offer, if anyone would like some help. That's all. If someone says something that I think is being misunderstood, than I'll say so and offer my support. Wouldn't you like to know what goes on behind the scenes in the industry? Don't you want to avail yourselves of every opportunity to make the most informed decisions?

Just wondering, did you happen to find out about the linens/color thing? Did you get a chance to talk to them about it? I bet Lorraine would know since she's closer to the date than us.

The demo made me almost cry so I figured that was a good sign. My cousin used them for her photography and videographer and loved them.
