Re: Help! My dress is too tight!

I have been taking the pills for 3 years on and off..
They give you a boost and help you take off weight fast especially if you don't like to hit the gym...

Let me know how it goes....

Re: Help! My dress is too tight!

I was afraid I wouldn't fit into my dress either. The week before the wedding I had a bad cold and lost a few pounds. I don't think you would have a problem if its a little snug, they can always let it out a bit if they need to.Most of the time they say that you lose a few pounds right before the wedding.

Re: Help! My dress is too tight!

8 pounds isn't a big deal, you have plenty of time. Just really concentrate on portion control, drinks lots of water and eat more vegetables and fruits then anything else. And do workout a few times a week, you'll be fine.

Re: Help! My dress is too tight!

i agree with kim and i WOULDN'T take fat burners..no way....let your body do things naturally...you don't know how your body will react & you don't need a new problem!! (i have to find this website i have it around somewhere--and you could look up different studies on that fat burner--and sometimes you won't even find a study b/c there has never been one-that to me is scary!!)(that's why i say avoid them!)...you have plenty of time --don't stress...........cut out soda and anything w/caffiene (start slow) .........drink A LOT of water......eat a big-huge salad w/lunch & or dinner to help fill you up.......eat fruit and veggies.....cut out those late night snacks....8 pounds isn't a lot----your body fluctuates 1-2 lbs a day anyway---& EXERCISE! if you have any more questions forum me!

Re: Help! My dress is too tight!

Be careful with the fat burners. They do have caffeine in them so with extra caffeine, they really put a strain on your heart.

Many people have died of a heart attack from the pills - someone I went to high school with (who was 22 at the time) died of a heart attack from taking those pills.

Just be careful, if you get the shakes from them...tone it down a bit...

Re: Help! My dress is too tight!

Try the Buff Brides Book- the book is a workout designed to make you fit in your dress-- It is pretty easy and only takes 1/2 hour to do every other day.

Re: Help! My dress is too tight!

Please becareful with the Stacker Pills. I used them when they first came out and it felt like I was on speed. I went to the pharmicist and asked them about the ephedrin in them and he told me that ephedrin can be very dangerous because our bodies can only take a certain amount of ephedrin. So I called the Stacker company to ask them how much ephedrin was in the pills and they wouldn't tell me. They said it was a trade secret. They thought I was trying to steal their formula!!! WTF??? So after that day, I threw out those pills and never looked back. I started weight watchers and have lost 22 pounds in total. I'm no longer on WW, but have been able to keep my weight down because I've changed my eating habits. I agree with Betty, you can eat whatever you want, just small portions. And instead of going for a chocolate bar/ice cream, get low fat granola bars/ice cream, etc.

Good Luck, YOU CAN DO IT!!!

Re: Help! My dress is too tight!

Stacey, how does weightwatchers work? Its not too clear from their site. Can you attend the first / trial meeting and pay there, or do you pay for one meeting first and then see how it goes? What do you do at the meetings? Do they provide you with a guidebook as to how many points is each dish? Or can you buy that in a store?

I have tried and can't seem to lose the few pounds that I want to lose before the wedding, so I would like to try them.

Thank you

Re: Help! My dress is too tight!

When I need to lose a little bit of weight I take water pills. It trims me down a little bit because I am getting rid of that extra water I retain. But I will never take weight reduction pills again. I used to take Xenadrine for a while. Then I stopped and a while later I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. This disease does not run in my family. I really think is was taking those pills that messed up my body but of course I can never prove that. I'm not trying to scare anybody....this was just my experience, but be careful.

Re: Help! My dress is too tight!

Do any of those pills make your heart race? I know I used to take Hydroxycut a while ago and they did. I would love a weight loss pill that doesn't interfere with my heart rate!

Re: Help! My dress is too tight!

Start watching what you eat, drink lots of water , exercise, and maybe you can get a hold of Weight Watcher points. Good luck, I am sure it will all work out.

Re: Help! My dress is too tight!

Alina:
You go to a meeting and pay. You can pay for that meeting only or pre pay for a bunch of meetings. At the first meeting they give you a book that has a chart that tells you how many points you can have per day depending on how much you weigh. The more you weigh, the more points you get to eat.
The following meetings, they give you additional booklets, but to me they were not very helpful. The most important book is the first one. The others give you excercise tips and low point recipes and snack ideas. (This may have changed though, I haven't been there in a while).
Also, every week you go in for a meeting they weigh you in. I don't remember exactly, but I also think they make you pay for missed weeks. For example, you go in tomorrow but you don't go in next week. On the third week, you have to pay for week 2(that you missed) and week 3. Stacey, please correct me if I'm wrong.
Also, if you declare your goal weight and stay at that weight for a few weeks (I can't remember the # of weeks exactly) you become a lifetime member (which is what I am) and you don't have to pay for anymore meetings. Once you're a lifetime member you can go in every week or once a month. However, if I miss a month, I have to pay for the one meeting I attend.

Sorry this is so long. Hope it was helpful and not confusing.

OK The pills definitely scare me. Betteroff sticking to eating healthy and getting some excersice. The problem is will power and motivation!

Re: Help! My dress is too tight!

Have you thought about the Atkins Diet? Just do a google search and you will find Dr. Atkins 'official' site, as well as others.

I did it and lost like 10 pounds VERY quickly.

It's basically all protein and very, very few carbs.

Go to his site if you can, because it really explains how to do it.

Re: Help! My dress is too tight!

If you're wedding isn't until March that gives you more than enough time to lose weight sensibly.
If you watch what you eat (low carbs, hi-protein, lots of vegetables to replace bread and pasta) and you drink enough water, and if you can force yourself to work out or do some form of cardio 3 times a week, you can realistically lose 1-2 lbs. a week without using fat burners.

I took Ripped Fuel for a long time and it completely wreaked havoc on my body.
my blood pressure was way to high for my age group. After going on Atkins, my thyroid went all out of wack....
I think someone mentioned but it's really like taking 'natural' cafeine and speed. Same goes for Stackers and all those other fat burners. I would have never found this out unless I had gone to a doctor for a checkup and bloodwork, because on the outside I looked good and felt fine.

They DO work, but they're NOT good for you, especially when you take them long term. I'd avoid it if you can and I wouldn't worry. Even if you decide to indulge over Christmas, 2 months is ample time to drop 10 lbs.

Re: Help! My dress is too tight!

Susan,

I just read your post about fat burners causing your thyroid to go out of wack!!! Is that the cause of your thyroid problem??? I'm just asking because I have taken Xenadrine and now I have a wacky thyroid!!!! I had NO IDEA that that would've been linked to those pills!!!

Thanks for the info!
