Hey all, I just got engaged on christmas eve and new to this website. I have been overwhelmed in finding a affordable catering hall. Anyone have any recommendations?

You can also talk them down A LOT! The price they quote you is not the set price, it's a starting point for negotiation.

Terrace on the Park in Queens deals with a lot of international weddings and allows outside catering...I had my wedding there and loved it..HTH Good luck and Congrats

Congrats on the Christmas eve engagement. I'm a Christmas Eve Eve engagement!
All those places everyone listed are great. I keep in mind the time of year. Deals on sunday day and friday nights are great but also keep in mind the Jewish Holidays. DJ's and Halls are usually dead for those weekends and usually strike up deals.

I had my reception at the Stewart Manor Country Club in Stewart Mnor. Its near Floral park and new hyde park. Great prices and great food. people who worked there were also superb. Congrats and good luck

I think it may help if you first decide what kind of ambiance you want. Like, do you want a beach front or a mansion or ... That will help narrow down the selection and give you some direction!

I agree with Stewart Manor Country Club, when FH and I met with James he said we can give them recipes if there was a 'family favorite', and that can do any type of food.

congrats! if you pick a friday/sunday/thursday you will get an excellent rate anywhere. also, if you can have your wedding sooner than later you will get an excellent deal. for example i know a couple who got married in 2 months and got an awesome deal- like $65pp at captain bill's in bay shore. i know this is crazy, but they did it and it was stress free!!! again, it depends on how much money you have! wedding planning should be a fun time for you and your new fiancee- don't let it stress you out!!! take your time and enjoy it!!! that's what we are doing!
