We thought 100% percent we would use Patken, as we loved our friends pictures. After going there last night and having a not so great experience we would like to explore other options. Can anyone suggest a place that is reasonable, but takes great pics????
If anyone is going to Patken, the advice I was given after the fact is speak to a photographer if possible-they put you at ease. We where not able to do that and the person we met with was very, very uncertain about everything we asked. She answered every question two different ways, and had no idea how much things she was trying to sell us cost. She also was telling us we only needed 30 pictures, however could not show us a book that had less than 45 pictures....and before we went I spoke to a friend who used them and started her package with 50 pics and ended up having to add 25 more!

Check out 12th night. They take great pics and Dominic is so nice. Check our their website, but you have to meet them in person. The work they have in the office is even better thant their website.
Contact Jack at Jessica Photography (he is the owner). They are on this site. We went to 7 different photographers, and he was the only person we trusted. You need to go meet with him to get a good taste of his photography. He also includes in the price, the 2nd photographer...and doesn't nit-pick for every last detail. Everything you want is included. ditto! We were given every single picture on CD. I was able to make copies, email them everything. I ordered the prints I wanted from shutterly for .99 cents a piece and I also made my album online easily on shutterfly for $80!

I'm using Patken for my June 24th wedding and I've been very happy with them so far. From my understanding, the reason for starting you with an album of 30 is because they give you the opportunity to add additional photos within two weeks of receiving your proofs at 1/2 the price. So, you only pay full price for the first 30 photos that you, in essence, gauranteed. Rather than starting with 45 or 60 and having a hard time filling up the album with photos you like (and paying much more) you get the chance to start low and build from there. I liked the concept ,the 50% reduction and the photographers I've spoken to. I did have a not so good experience with another woman there who seemed slightly confused, so maybe you do need to talk to a photographer instead. I did and my question was answered immediately. They seem to be much more knowledgeable and customer orriented. I say give them another chance. . . their photos are stunning and the photographers are fantastic. We've only had our engagement shoot (the photo in the avatar) but we were very impressed with that as well. Good Luck!

That's good news! We where never told about the 50% discount to add additional pictures, that would have made sense.

I'm using Leli as well! I love Gary and after meeting with many photographers we knew he was the one for us. Definitely check him out. He is very easy going and will answer all of your questions with a straight answer - trust me - I asked him a million!!!!!

I am going with Twelfth Night. My friend used them for her wedding and her pics came out beautiful (as did N.Y. Bride's - those were the ones we were shown when we went to meet with Dom).

The owners are the only photographers so it is very personal service.

Thats a shocker! My first meeting with them was in Mineola with Nadira and she was very knowledgable and answered all of our questions. Sorry you had a dud Being that I just got back my proofs, I had a ton of questions about my album and video and again, Nadira knew all of the answers to my questions. Oh and just so future Patken Brides know, the discount is NOT for addiotional pics you add to the album, it is for portraits you order in addition to the ones that come in your package. The forms I received upon picking up my proofs state that the discount cannot be used towards additional pages in the album or wallet size photos. Sorry you were unfortunate to meet with someone who couldn't help you. Good luck in your search.

Are you referring to Patken? If so, Yes. They do give you a finished album.
