Hi I'm new! and I need help choosing a RH

Hi fellow LI brides!
I am new to this board, have been lurking for the past 2 months since I got engaged. I have finally started to look for a RH. I have appointments with a few places this weekend and just wanted some of your opinions.

I am inviting 180 guests, but I know not all will show up, so I am telling RH's that its going to be about 150, does that sound right? I am looking to spend no more than $120 pp for a Saturday night in October (date is flexible).

So far these are my choices:

Leonard's (which I'm not super thrilled about)
Swan Club
Crest Hollow
Fox Hollow
Woodbury Country Club
Westbury Manor

I really wanted North Ritz Club, but their minimum was too high for me.

I would greatly appreciate your thoughts! Which RH would you recommend? I am not really picky on the hall.. but just want it to be pretty and won't cost too much.

Thanks!

Hi, welcome and good luck with planning.

I've seen brides rave about Swan Club, Fox Hollow
and Westbury Manor.

What about Jericho Terrace? That should also be within your price range and the food is great there!

welcome and congrats!!!

I have no idea about what you should guarantee but I can tell you a little about pricing from the places I looked at:

you are in the right ballpark (with tax and gratuity included) for swan club, crest hollow and westbury manor.

I believe Woodbury CC and Fox Hollow was around that but that did not include tax and gratuity so it bumps it up a bit.

You may also want to check out watermill in Smithtown

Thanks ladies! =)

I forgot about Jericho Terrace! Thanks!

I am going to about 6 places this weekend.. and going to Swan Club on Saturday, I will definitely let you know what I find out!

The Watermill is beautiful, but its a bit far for me and my guests as we are all mainly from Queens. Also, I should add that I need to have my ceremony at the RH as well.

With the number of guests I have, many of the places such as Swan Club and Westbury manor are giving me the smaller rooms.

I really want to have something booked within the next two weeks! I feel like I can't start doing anything until I have my RH.

I'd definitely reccomend Swan Club! My minimum was 150 and I got the big room (Camelot Room) I ened up having about 186 guest and it worked out great.

Congrats and welcome! I saw that you are looking to get married at the reception hall on a Saturday night. I did the same thing and the ONLY hall that would let me do that with no problems with Jericho Terrace (although I didn't look at Woodbury because my cousin got married there). Westbury Manor is BEAUTIFUL but they told me I would have to get married in the morning and then come back at night for a Saturday night (or Sunday of a holiday weekend) for my reception if I wanted a night wedding. It was one GIANT pain in the butt!

Make sure you ask EACH place about giving you a separate room for your ceremony and if there is anyone booked before or after you in that room.

Those are all great places to start! I've been to wedding at all of the places you listed and they were all really well done!! Good luck!

ourwedding9510- oh no, I didn't realize that some places won't let you have the ceremony, then the reception to follow. I didn't even think to ask about that... oh boy..

I will have to call JT today.

I am getting married at Crest Hollow and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it there. They do have more than one wedding at a time but I have heard from many people that they are really good about making sure there is no point that you see the other brides (I honestly do not care but I know alot of people do not like that).

I am getting married on a Friday in April and our price is well below the price you were looking for but I am not sure about October... but my guess is that it will be.

what about picking a non-saturday night? I love NRC and made the choice to go with a friday or sunday for the minimum and cost reasons. my minimum is 130 (and i had originally a friday, now it's a sunday night).

I would definitely recommend Fox Hollow! If you go there, meet with David! He is absolutely amazing! He has always treated us like family! FH and I were just blown away by him. The options available and the entire package is just amazing! Or.. if you want a more modern feel, then Chateau Briand is beautiful too and you would get the same service, just not David. I definitely recommend either one.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
