HONEST answer

HONEST answer

So i would really appreciate your opinions and would like the truth. I dont get offended easily so dont let that be a concern

The other day there was a question about BP gifts and what you were spending. The ave answer was $100-$150.

Is it bad if I was thinking 50-75? FH and I are paying for whole wedding ourselves and trying to find a house. WE were trying to keep this price down since our BP is huge, (16 total) but now I feel bad.

Im not splurging everywhere else and trying to be cheap there... but I guess the question is,

Would you be offended?

no. i think its fine.

its more the thought that counts

plus, depending on what sales you find and when you shop you can get ALOT for that price

i would not be offended at all!

BMs and GMs shoudl not accept coming into your BP to recieve a gift anyway.

First, I don't think anyone should be offended by you spending less money. Besides, how would they even know how much you spent????

You spend what you can. FH and I are lucky enough that our wedding and HM are being taken care of by the parents, so we can spend more on our BP. I've also been buying things sporatically, so it doesn't take as much of a toll.

I would not be offended at all... I wouldnt worry too much about it... BP gifts are fun, but I honestly dont think they need to break the bank, especially since you are paying for everything!

Not at all... I have been surprised with how much people spend on the gifts - I never thought people spent that much. I think it's totally fine!!!

I wouldn't be offended - do what you can, don't be worried about what everyone else is doing.

I would not be offended at all....and if I had a bridal party of 16 people I would spend half of what I'm spending now.

I don't think you should feel bad at all! People should be appreciative no matter what you get them and how much you spend......I am sure people would rather see you put that $ towards a house instead of spending an extra $75 on each BM/GM........do what you pocket allows and don't feel bad about it one bit!

Re: HONEST answer

Absolutely not!
If I was in your BP, I'd most likely know that you're spending every penny on the wedding and I'd never expect a huge gift!

Personally, I'm one of those people who love costume jewelry and semi precious stones, so I'm a cheap date anyway

Not at all. I've been in two weddings and the brides both got all the BMs and MOHs' DOJ and that's it. It couldn't have been more than $30. I was not at all offended. I also don't plan on spending more than $50 per person. We have 8 BMs, 9 GMs, 2 Jr. BMs, and 1 flower girl.

Thanks girls.

I just know being in a wedding can get expensive. I let them pick their own style of dress, own shoes, not asking them to get hair or make-up etc, but I just want them to know its all appreciated and they are special. I know its not the price tag that matters but I guesss I just felt bad.

Its hard not to compare when you hear all these amazing ideas/gifts/experiences you girls have ya know?

NO WAY!! I could tell you right now that I am definitely not spending anywhere even near $100 for each person we have to buy gifts for 23 people (20 Bm's and Gm's, 2 flowers girls and 1 pillow boy). Theres nothing to be offended about, weddings cost a damn lot!!

Re: HONEST answer

I plan on spending about the same amount as you. I have a BP of 20 plus 3 readers. There is not way I can spend that much. I am not to worried about it. I mean your BP is doing it for YOU not for the gift.

I felt the same way though when I was seeing what other's intended to spend

I don't think it is bad. I'm not planning on spending too much on the gifts either. I wouldn't be offended if I got a less expensive gift; I would be grateful that I received something.

nope... its the thought that counts, not the dollar amount!

your fine.

Re: HONEST answer

Definitely not offended!! Spend even less if you want. Just spend what you can afford. You have a huge BP and so many other things to worry about. BP gifts really don't matter all that much.

Re: HONEST answer

Honestly, I was planning on spending about $75. This adds up so quickly!

I have 5 BMs so 5 x 150 = Too much $$.

And that's not even mentioning the 8 groomsmen, 3 ushers, 2 flower girls, 2 readers, and the FILs and my parents.
