Honeymoon $$

How much are you planning on spending on your honeymoon? We're thinking a week vacay to St. Lucia and including flights, etc. it's looking like $7,000 is that a crazy amount to spend on one week?!?

Re: Honeymoon $$

$7000 is about average I would say. We're going to a Sandals Resort and paying something in that range. I would say you might want to spend a little more money on the HM because it's a place you may never get to go to again. Just my opinion though! Good Luck :)

Our budget is $10,000 for 14 days - 7 days in Italy, 7 days on a cruise to the Greek Isle, including airfare. But while in Itlay we are staying at less expensive hotels.

You should check out a cruise we are going to Aruba, colombia, costa rica, panama, and mexico on a 15 day cruise and it is $5,000!!!! I know that there are cruises to St. Lucia.

4700 for cruise and airfare. not including BOOZE and spending money AND excursions. i expect that to be atleast another grand.

We are dealing with the harsh reality that everything we want to do is at least $7000-$10000... We are undecided where right now, but know we will be spending in that range

Re: Honeymoon $$

You should talk to a travel agent. Get an idea and then see if you can try and get it cheaper. My friend got quoted for St. Lucia honeymoon, then tried to do it herself and got it cheaper but went back to the travel agent and they matched it. It's their job so if you get lucky and get a good agent they are useful.

Re: Honeymoon $$

thats a lot!! of $ for one week...and that too only to St. Lucia.
We went to Bali, Phuket Island, Malaysia and Hong Kong, and stayed in beautiful 4-5 star hotels, and our total trip cost us 12k, but we also booked in advance...and we were gone for 1 month. So for 7k and that too St. Lucia your not getting the most for your money.

Re: Honeymoon $$

We are doing a split stay at 2 Sandals resorts in St Lucia.

4 nights at the Grande & 4 nights at the Regency. Spending $3900 total without the airfare.

We used Rae at Crusing the Ocean Blue (a vendor on here)

Re: Honeymoon $$

Does it make more sense that it's over the Easter break (we're both teachers) so airfare is more and rates are slightly higher? It's all inclusive at a 5 star and we're getting our own cottage/pool?? This is a tough decision!!

Re: Honeymoon $$

I'm doing 2 weeks split btw costa rica and cancun at gorgeous luxury resorts for a lil less. Imo, if it were me, id want at least 2 weeks for $7k. But some of these places and some high end luxury resorts are expensive!

Re: Honeymoon $$

Thats about what our's is costing us. 10 days in St. Lucia including flights was $6300. We also booked excursions for an extra $500.

Re: Honeymoon $$

well we were originally going to Jamaica and that would have cost us about $3500-$4000 BUT now we are going to ne changing it to London/Ireland because we have a wedding to go to in Ireland next July so we decided to make a HM out of it since we have an excuse to be there. So needless to say, it make cost much more than that.

Re: Honeymoon $$

for 7 days in St. Lucia that sounds like a lot of money.....I don't think its a lot of money to spend in general on a honeymoon depending on where and how long you are going for.

eta: my parents are going next week to St. Lucia at Sandals for one week, all inclusive with liquor, it was just under $5k
