I AM CANCER-FREE!!! I got my biopsy results today and they are benign!!!! the doctor and i are talking about doing a lumptectomy anyway to clear everything out, but as long as it's not cancer, i am happy.
thanks to all of you for your FM's, your posts and your thoughts, prayers and good wishes!!! it has meant so much to me and kept me calm throughout a nerve-wracking weekend. thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
-------------------------------------------------------------------- I don't usually post my personal issues on the site... but for those of you that are so inclined, I could really use some prayers right now.
A few weeks ago I found a lump in my breast. this week I had lots of tests done including a needle biopsy today. she has ruled out a cyst... and it could very well be cancer.... I have to wait until TUESDAY ( I never thought I wouldn't want a long weekend before!) for the results.
My mother had a very severe form of breast cancer so I am very nervous. I just can't believe it... My wedding is only 4 months away and I am only 29...
I am hoping for the best.... has anyone else around my age dealt with this?

My thoughts and prayers are with you. I have worked for a Breast Cancer hotline and support program that serves all over the country. I ran a support group for young women. You are not alone, there are more and more younger women finding lumps in their breasts (cancerous or not) I know you are going through a tough time right now and it might be hard to talk to others about your thoughts. In the next several days try to be good to yourself as much as possible. If you need anything let me know. I wish you all the best and please keep us posted.

I am soooo sorry you are going through this! I am sending your way! I had a form of cancer myself and I know the feeling of the grewling waiting for an answer myself ~ Try to keep busy and keep your mind off of it! (I know it is so HARD to do and can consume all your thoughts ~ but try)

Karen- I am so sorry to hear you are going through this.
There are a lot of things it could be other than cancer- (please god)- it is good that you found it early- big prayers for you - I know everything will be fine!

Actually a good friend of mine, she's 25, found a lump on her left breast, just 2 weeks ago. She has since gone for a biopsy, and they found it to be benign (spelling?). However, there is a strong history in her family of breast cancer, so must keep getting tested. Keep your head held high, and know that you have a ton of girls here, who will be your backbone if need be the case. I'll pray for you in church tomm, and I hope everything works out for you.

The doctor found a lump in my breast too a few months back....after I got the sonogram done they said it wasn't anything to worry about. I was very worried also. My grandma died of breast cancer at 57 so I knew it ran in the family. But you are in my prayers!! Just try to stay optimistic...I know it's hard!
