Just curious what you all consider a fair price for hotel rooms for out of town guests. The best I have found is $119. I feel that's a lot of money for one night. What do you think? Thanks! Also, if you know of anything cheaper that's in the Port Jefferson area, that would be great! Thanks again!

Re: Hotel prices
Our guests are paying $125 to stay at the hotel that's next to Harrison House and anywhere from $160-$179 to stay in Manhattan before the wedding.

Re: Hotel prices
I think that's very reasonable. It's hard being on LI, things are soooooo much more expensive. I feel guilty, b/c Out-of-towners don't always understand. When my brother got married in MD, it cost $60 a night for a great hotel. Never going to find that on LI!!!!!!

I also think that's a fair price - I was quioted between $119-150 for the places in Nassau County I was checking out.

Re: Hotel prices
Thats sounds like a great price here. That was the amount I had originally heard but then when I went to actually block the rooms, they told me it would be $139 - the $119 was their 'off season rate'. Helene, can I ask, where did you find the $119?

Re: Hotel prices
Wow! I was not expecting to hear that. You ladies made me feel soooo much better! I had a HUGE blow out fight with my dad about how selfish I am being about the wedding because I expect out of towners to spend so much money on everything, and the hotel price was just fuel for his argument. Now I don't feel so bad. oneday - It's for the new Radisson exit 63 off the LIE. I also checked out expedia, orbitz and several others, and they were more than this. I'm still looking for either a Comfort Inn or Econolodge to appease my dad though

Re: Hotel prices
I also blocked the Raddison at exit 63. I am pretty sure we got them for $119 and that was the absolute best price we could find. We only got it at that price because we printed it from the internet and they honored it.

Re: Hotel prices
Ours with the blocked discount is 159.00 per night. I think 119.00 is good for Long Island.

The best I could do was $104.99 at the new Red Roof Inn over by Fortunoff's.

I agree that is a good price compared to the prices I was quoted when looking.

Re: Hotel prices
I lucked out. I was able to negotiate the Marriott Melville down to $99. That is the beauty of getting married in January!

Re: Hotel prices
My guests are staying at the Marriott Financial Center in DT, Manhattan and I got a quote of 129, which I think is pretty darn good.. I've stayed for at hotels for other weddings, and have had to shell out up to 179 for a night!

Re: Hotel prices
$119 is the best price I got. We blocked rooms at the Huntington Hilton. The Marriot quoted us the same, but wanted us to give them a credit card for half the rooms - so we went with the Hilton.
