Ok seems alot of us are looking, and i had told some ppl i would send them listings of good deals...so i figured i'd make a thread and this way others can post great deals they have seen to help others out and who knows maybe we can actually help somebody find something. I'll post a few things i found, some i wont post bc i want it to stay on the market for just a little longer so i can try to get it lol...hopefully others will post too
since ive been looking at apartments ill post alot of those, but here is one home that is a good price for the area, i know where this home is and its very nice locatio...rest of the things i'll post will be less money since theyre apartments
really nice - it looks like it's ground floor; if you can i'd avoid those. i lived in a ground floor apt on the UES and it was so dark all the time. just definitely check out the lighting factor and if it's surrounded by other buildings etc.
are you just looking for a place with more room for you and fh since you already own a place? I think in 3 years we will start looking and save in the meantime though I would love a house now... we def need to save for a while though. my place should be okay in the meantime
no my mom is gonna stay in this apartment, it would be perfect bc its 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and a good size.
I like that apartment but its not one we're gonna look at...i am not posting those lol but in case anybody is interested thought i'd put these up

WOW i love that kitchen!!!! the taxes aren't bad at all.
setauket is way too far for me though; i can barely deal with my commute from queens

I know - I wish Setauket wasn't so far from nyc. FH has a job there.
But we'd LOVE to live there or Sag Harbor.
ANOTHER deal breaker....buying a house on a main road or around the corner from a major highway. Also, being next to the train.

yep! i've turned down a few houses because the taxes were so damn high..one house had 12000 taxes!!!!! and thats a gorgeous house bonnie! i love the kitchen!!!!!

i love the new condo's they're building called novo 64 in queens but they're expensive. The building has a cinema, massage parlor, shuttle service to the train stations, gym

yea i feel real bad for you commuters..me and fh found really nice houses on the island ..mainly out east that were pretty affordable..its crazy how the prices jack way up once you get closer and closer to the city

its funny bc i want to be close to major highways and HAVE to be near train stations or else that is actually a deal breaker for me, well the train stations part...I definitely DON'T want to live like across the street from a train station or around the corner from a highway but a few blocks away. Thats a good one with transportation for me, i have to look at that right away and the one place we like alot there is transportation close by but not that close

this is insane, 3 bedrooms for 1,675,000.00 ...the crazy part is that they started building up that area not long ago so to see places for that price in that area is still weird to me...it was so abandoned and just not great

I always fall in love with a house, then I click on the map (on MLSLI) and the house is always on a main highway, behind a train station, or next to some kind of industrial lot.
Some people are just really good at taking pics of the houses to show the best angles - ya know?

another crazy thing is that all these expensive condo's are in bad areas...i mean yeah they're building alot of nice condo's but the neighborhood still needs ALOT more fixing up and theyre right around the corner from projects, or right in front of a train and i mean the train runs right in front of. If any of you ever saw that special called 'hunters point' on HBO with the hookers, well thats where these buildings are lol

YES!!! this one place i saw, the person took a picture of the view outside their apartment, well i see this cafe on the corner and im like wait a second thats the cafe thats on the platform for the LIRR lol, they made sure to cut out that part
