We will have a Unity Candle

Something for FHs dad (lighting a candle or placing a rose on the alter....something)

Giving flowers the la madona definitly. Since both Paul and I have pretty kooky families, I will be walking in by myself but Paul will meet me halfway and take me to the alter. I think it really signifies our relationship. Little corny but it will do

No Wacky, I think that is so nice. When I used to work at a temple thats what they did. The parents would walk the bride 1/2 way down and then the FH would meet her and walk her the rest of the way. I really liked it but my dad likes tradition and wants to walk me all the way down.

When Ron gave me my ring.. I was so nervous and sceaming so loud I got so warm I thought I was going to faint in the carriage!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I want the GrandParents to be part of the procession.. I will have them walk in prior to the BP ..

Jennbaby sent me the Hands Prayer....and it may be one on here somewhere if you do a search. It is really nice, but there are a few versions. SOme talk about the bride then the groom and some combine (thats the one we will use)It says stuff like these are the hands that will comfort you when you are ill etc. (not really but something like that)

Re: HOw are you making your CERMONY unique?

Ha ha, I'm getting more and more unique by the day

We're having the harpist

The Pastor will say something to dedicate the ceremony to my Mom --- before the procession - i will cry if he does it while I'm up front

I'm having a slew of Jr. Hostesses and my main Hostess to meet greet, etc (dont worry R&T I didnt 4get what I got 4 U

Now I'm thinking of having a Memory Candle for a few ppl burning throughout the ceremony too after I saw that thread. .. .

Also I have one of my Jr. Hostesses SINGING a Bible verse.

And my sis reciting a love poem that she'll write just for me and Len

And 2 Godmothers walking together (they're twins) they will wear the same dress in a difft color, but same overall 'look' as the BMs. Some ppl might consider my BP too much, I consider it unique

My minibride

Edit to say: writing our own vows. We won't share them w/each other until we recite them.

We did the Unity Candle and we presented our mothers with roses.

We are having the unity candle, having my grandmother (the only living grandparent of either one of us alive) walk down the aisle before the BP being escorted by my cousins (her grandsons) and I am going to be writing my own petitions.

Ours is interfaith, so it's unique in it's own way.

We'll be doing things from both the Jewish and Catholic faith. Unity candle, glass breaking, readings from old testament and new, a song during the candle lighting. Our Cantor will also be reading from letters that we will write to one another before the wedding. That is sure to get the tears going!

That's the spirit T ...

I had the choir from the HS come & play the entrance, sing the song from Phantom for our Unity candle lighting, do the Ave Maria for the presentation to the Blessed Mother, & the recessional. They also got to do quite a few christmas carols beforehand because we were soooo late! (UUUGH! ) Everyone loved the music & the carols put people in the christmas mood!

We'll be having a string trio play before and during the ceremony. The hall will be providing champagne and appetizers as guests are arriving to the ceremony.

I'm going to have programs in the shape of a fan (incase it's really hot).

We'll be throwing rose petals handed out in little bags.

We'll be doing the unity candle and we'll be doing a rose presentation to eachother. Our officiant does it and its kind of like a first gift to eachother. Its really cute : ).

I think that's about it for now.

We are having a scripture reading: 1 Corinthians 13 - The New Living Translation and we are having someone sing a song.

Re: HOw are you making your CERMONY unique?

We made it very short (just stuff about marriage and us - no unrelated readings or customs)

-modified hands ceremony
-had 2 vocalists sing 'The Prayer'
-modified the traditional vows a bit

Re: HOw are you making your CERMONY unique?

we're not really sure. my mom suggested putting flowers by the blessed mother, my best friend suggested taking 2 roses from my bo-k and giving one to my mom and one to his mom.

i am liking everyone's ideas.

I like the rose thing (giving it to mothers) If my boquet is all roses do they stick in two extras (higher) so I don't pull apart the whole thing??

When do you give it to them? After the ceremony??
