Looking at the 'Let's post rings' thread - it seems like everyone on here has nearly a 2ct center stone! Wow ladies.

I put a poll to keep this semi-anonymous because I know this is a personal question.

*Edited to add 'tacky' to post title * (Notice how tongue-in-cheek I am about all of this ) and to change 'diamond' to 'center stone' for both clarity and to include all of you girls with beautiful non-diamond engagement rings (I can't access the poll in edit mode, apparently)

wont re-iterate what was said. But, I didnt think before I typed. I read the post and immediately posted what I though, which really ARENT my thoughts at all. It was along the lines of planning a wedding without even having a ring, which is TOTALLY not the way I feel. I have been with my FH for almost 6 years, without a ring only until this Christmas. So, what I said is not really a reflection of who I am and what I believe. I kinda misread the post, and didnt realize what I said, and how crappy it came out.

So, here I am, hoping that everyone can just let it go, and I can feel welcome here again.

why does everybody get so sensitive once the topic of diamond is touched????

i don't see people pointing fingers or saying it's tacky when a bride says her gown is $8k.. or accuse a bride of showing off when she posts a pic of her expensive centerpiece up.

what is the difference???

why is a girl talking about or loving her big diamond is automatically showing off? size (for diamond, in this case.. ) doesn't matter, and neither does quality!!!!!!!

wow, i don't have a ring, but i have mostly everything booked for my wedding. i'm 100% sure my fiance will show up the day of the wedding. i don't think a big sparkly will guarantee his attendance at the ceremony. i found what Kris said to be extremely rude. just b/c i DON'T have a ring, i can't plan a wedding?

I dont want to argue with you, we just have different opinions. we need to leave it at that. Plus, youre spunky and I like that about you. We would get along great in real life. And admit it, you know yourself that Mikes2005Bride was a , so why are you arguing with me?

Did anyone notice that all these ppl. were complaining about the 'tacky topic' of the size of their rings but as soon as the topic of the size of their FH's Johnson came up, everyone seemed happy to just talk about their rings?
