Looking at the 'Let's post rings' thread - it seems like everyone on here has nearly a 2ct center stone! Wow ladies.

I put a poll to keep this semi-anonymous because I know this is a personal question.

*Edited to add 'tacky' to post title * (Notice how tongue-in-cheek I am about all of this ) and to change 'diamond' to 'center stone' for both clarity and to include all of you girls with beautiful non-diamond engagement rings (I can't access the poll in edit mode, apparently)

This is the most replied to Poll I've ever seen. Seems to me that although no one wants to be seen talking about it we all want to talk about it.

I'll admit it - me too! I am proud of what FH choose for me. He surprised and shocked me and made the the happiest women on earth.

To answer the question - The center stone is 1.02 carats.

wow, i don't have a ring, but i have mostly everything booked for my wedding. i'm 100% sure my fiance will show up the day of the wedding. i don't think a big sparkly will guarantee his attendance at the ceremony. i found what Kris said to be extremely rude. just b/c i DON'T have a ring, i can't plan a wedding?

I agree, I had all of the numbers and contacts and halls all ready till I got my ring- so I was planning my wedding before I got my bling bling! And the best part was I booked everything except for my HM in 2 weeks after getting engaged, all by planning FIRST- I dont think sequence matters! Oh I forgot to answer the original post center is 1.52, and it could have been any size didnt matter to me. FH doesnt have to buy my love or impress me with his pockets. His heart alone is all I need. A ring is just a symbol.

i have a friend with his a 5 carat ring she flaunts it and makes a huge deal out of it. it looks so dark it could be an onyx instead of a diamond. i think that the size doesnt matter as much as the quality.

Its not the size thats important, but the quality of the diamond!!!!!

Yes, It's NOT the SIZE that matters!

I think what would settle that issue and be a better question is an anonymous poll on how much each center stone was appraised for, followed by a poll on how much each ring was appraised for as a whole.

(PS ... Just kidding, wouldn't want to create another controversy here!)

Thank you for making that point about the human rights abuses surrounding diamonds. I think more of us should be aware of this. I also think it awesome that you decided to get something else. I have diamond but I always wonder why we are all socialized to want diamonds as our engagment rings.

my center stone (round) is 1.25 carats and the side baguettes are a total weight of .25 carats making the whole ring 1.50 carats. It was passed on to us by my grandmother
