I am borrowing my sisters tiara for my wedding. She wore it and my other sister wore it as well. It kind of means a lot beacause it is sort of like an heirloom I guess?? Anyway there is this film on some of the beading from all the hairspray. How do you suppose I clean it? I was thinking with jewlery cleaner??? Any suggestion?

If it's really delicate, maybe take it to a jeweler and ask them what they can do.

soak it in a bowl of rubbing alcohol. Then you can gently brush the stones with a soft or child's toothbrush.

My suggestion would be to start off soaking it in hot water with regular dish soap. That's what I do with my e-ring and the jeweler was so impressed by how clean it was.

A soft babys toothbrush and a little toothpaste or efferdent, as suggested above.

I agree, the alcohol will dissolve any of the residue, and it dries quickly. See if you can find one of those polishing clothes to finish it off.
PS - My sister gave me her tiara to borrow too!!! Im so honored!!

The only problem with alcohol is that the finish could tarnish or even come off altogether. It would be horrible to ruin something so precious to you and your sisters. I think the hot water and dish soup should really do the trick.
Regardless of what you choose, just dip in a little bit of the end first to make sure nothing bad happens to the finish.

I second this except I'd go for warm water not hot.
