I came home to FH cooking us lobster dinner! He set the table and had raw clams on the 1/2 shell for an apetizer! (yummm!!) After dinner he said he got dessert and pulled out a bakery box and told me to open it. I opened the box and my ring was inside!!!!! He got down on one knee and said: 'Kathryn, will you marry me?'
And i screamed at him: ARE YOU SERIOUS!????

We get upstate at around 2:00am, my family and his family are already up there (which I knew about, it was planned to spend the weekend up there) We pull up and he runs inside, leaving me outside (with my brothers) in the dark to carry our bags in ourselves. So I finally get inside and everyones awake. Which i thought was odd considering it was now almost 2:30am. I walk upstairs and Jimmy's standing by his bedroom door, so I ask him to please open the door so i can put my bags down and pass out. He opens the door and there was rose petals all over the bed and floor, a table was set up with chocolate covered strawberries, and a bottle of champagne on ice with 2 toasting flutes with our names engraved. Since it was so late and I could barely keep my eyes open, It didnt register as to what was happening. And i think Jimmy realized I was not all with it so he ran over and grabbed the ring box on the table and ran back over to me. Then i finally woke up and started hysterical crying!! He got down on one knee and said the sweetest things to me, then asked me if I would grow old with him. So I kept saying 'Are you serious?! hes like yessss i'm serious!!..A few mins went by and he realized I was still crying and didn't answer him! So he finally was able to calm me down and I said YESSSSSSSS!!!

FH wrote a whole story on our webpage describing how he proposed. He did it through a powerpoint slide show, so cute.
FH and I went out to dinner in Long Beach and then we took a walk on the boardwalk because it was a gorgeous night. We went down onto the beach to walk somewhere. We were talking about marriage and then all of a sudden he stopped, got down on one knee, and said 'Will you marry me?' I was so surprised, I couldn't believe it! Of course, I said yes

as for the proposal...well...I offered to take joe out to dinner because the gift I bought him didn't work out. he said since that would be his gift for valentines day, I could have my gift early. He went to his parents house to get it. (afterwards he told me he almost crashed twice on the way back out of nerves) he told me to sit on the couch and turn my back to him. I was under the impression he was going to buy me a pendant for mny necklace, which he had told me he needed from me before he left to go to his parents house. so he had me close my eyes and sit on the couch with my back towards him as he put a chain around my neck. the 'pendant' was draping down the back of my neck. He first told me to take a look at the chain which was this gaudy yellow gold twisted rope chain. (turned out this was his papa pete's chain) I almost laughed out loud becauase I swear the chain made me look like ll cool j. but then he told me I would love the pendant. he then asked me to look at the pendant and pull it up in front of me...so I pulled it forward and there was the ring. He got down on one knee and proposed. What he said to me I couldn't tell you because my hearing pretty much just stopped at that moment.

we went to see the tree last christmas...
i had a feeling it was goign to happen.. my mom had the ring made at work, and friday she was 'shady' and wispering with my dad in a locked room...
sat rob told me to get all dressy and confirm the reservations for dinner... it was my night to choose the activities but he told me it has to be aroudn the tree.... i took it for what it was bc he never saw it recently during xmas.. and he knwe it means alot to me... (im jewish but i love nyc during xmas)
we walked around and he kept telling me to get closer to really look at the tree
so im looking and seeingthe lights and the show, and the music.. then he grabs my arm.. shaking liek a leaf...
gets down on his knee and asks me 'will u marry me?' then pops up
i was liek 'are you crazy'!? or somethign liek that... are you serious.. i know i didnt believe him at first...
hes like yes ... and i took the ring put it on and said yes and kissed him.. we hugged and then i started crying...
he started tearing when he saw i was crying!

we were planning to go to his sisters for christmas eve dinner. he begged me to be at his house on time( i am normally late for everything!) .
I got to his house and he was carrying on that his room mate got home early. I didnt understand what the big deal was so I ignored the whining. I started to sort out which gifts stayed at his house and which went to his sisters when I realized that I couldnt find a bag of gifts. As I freaked out, I went running out to my car to see if left the bag there. guess what..u guessed it- they were not there!
As I am heading back to the front door, I see him come outside with the presents from inside the house and start to put them in the car. I start babbling that we need to go back to my house to get the missing gifts. He says to me....stop, I want to give you one of your presents early( we were gonna exchange gifts after dinner at his sisters) . I was like ' um..ok- but we still have to get back to my house to get the gifts' I go to walk in the house and he stops and kisses me. As i broke from the kiss, i see him down on one knee with the ring in his hand.
I almost died b/c it was so unexpected. I dont rember everything that he said because I was so shocked.
As it turns out, he was planning to do it by the tree before we left to go to his sisters but his room mate coming home spoiled it and he needed to do it before his sisters since they all knew about the proposal so he used me flipping out bout the gifts as an alternate plan.

we were in hershey, pa. just a quick weekend trip before summer was officially over.
FH knows i do not like to be the center of attention and how uncomfortable i get.. so he hid the ring under the bed in our hotel room, and before we went to be he pulled it out and asked me to marry him.
i thought he was joking and even told him to stop playing that it wasnt funny. then after he was like 'im not kidding, look at the ring'.. i realized he was serious, and of course said yes.
i felt a little bad then for not really listening to what he was saying leading up to it, because he was so nervous he was rambling. i had no idea why.
i was SHOCKED!

We went to Long Beach and had dinner on the boardwalk (We brought chinese-weird but he chose the dinner). We then walked along the boardwalk. Then we sat on the lifeguard chair and just talked and enjoyed the night. He's like oh we forgot to eat our fortune cookies. So I open it and it was personalized (see picture). He said a bunch of mushy stuff then stood up so he could get on one knee (he's said I have to do it right lol) and I stood up and cried and said yes. He did get teary eyed too.
we were getting ready to go out to dinner w my family. FH asked me to come in the bedroom, and there was a scrapbook on the bed.
inside were cute little lovey things, and a pic of us. i turned to the next page, and there was a picture of a diamond ring and it said 'will you marry me?'
i turned around, and he was down on one knee, holding a box containing the ring from the picture in the book. he asked 'will you marry me?' i said 'ARE YOU SERIOUS? YOU'RE SERIOUS? IS THIS FOR REAL?!' and finally when he had convinced me that he was in fact serious, i said 'YES!' and then i jumped around for a half hour screaming.

He said he wanted to do something special for his 30th birthday. So he planned a trip to hike Mount Washington (highest point in northeast). After 6 hours of hiking, we finally reached the summit. He surprised me with the proposal at the summit. I was exhaused, cold and dehydrated, it rained and snow, but it was all worth it because we we in the clouds.
It was St Patty's day ( i call it my favorite day) and he was acting weird but i didnt care because its the only day where you get to party ALL day! So im a member of my local fire house, as is FH, and we were going to the Fire houses' St pattys day parade. The guys in my firehouse had me doing BS work (they were in on it) that i was getting annoyed at and was like 'i just want to go and party!!' Finally they were like lets go and as I was walking out of the truck room ( they told me to call my friend so i was on the phone oblivious to everything around me) I saw a bunch of people standing outside and was like 'oooh whats going on out here' Then i saw FH in his FDNY uniform and i saw 100 people (no joke 100 people!!!) starring at me and laughing because i was so dumbfounded. Now when i get nervous i start laughing and shaking...and while im laughing and shaking my FH is pooring his heart out to me 'hun, you know how much i love you and you mean the world to me' he gets on one knee and said ' will you marry me' i say yes but im laughing!! FH has tears and im laughing because im soooooo overwhelmed that hes doing this and 100 people are watching!!
Last summer my FH had surgery on his lungs and he was out of work for about 3months. We've been through a lot in our relationship, but this was definetely really hard on us (he almost went into cardiac arrest in the ambulence). We ended up getting closer than ever! As he started feeling better he told me that he had really,really wanted to take my on a cruise. I've never been on vacations (outside of PA and NJ) and I'm obsessive about water. So he thought a cruise would be the best place to take me.
He had my mother in on it, and convinced my whole family to come. I am VERY, VERY close with my mother and he knew that I'd want her to be there.
Two weeks before we left he had a voicemail on his phone from a jeweler saying 'The ring is in, give me call'..and I listened to it..he told me it was the wrong number..and I really didn't think about it again. Of course it went through my mind, but I thought..noo!!! It can't be! hehe. Especially because he really wasn't feeling well.
On the cruise I sorta had a feeling he was going to propose, but at the same time..I thought I was HOPEING more than actually 'feeling' that way.
He was BEGGING me to go on this skyride in St. Thomas and I completely refused because I am SCARED to death of heights lolz...but he was there before and swears its the most beautiful site he's ever seen. In retrospect, I should have gone anyway lolz..but I kinda ruined that for him.
By the end of the cruise, I had lost all hope lolz.
On the nite before we came home..he took me back to the hotel room and he started telling me a whole story about how much he loves me and wants to spend the rest of his life with me, I wish so badly I would have remembered everything he said (he was talking for at least 15 minutes straight) but I was way too anxious. I thought he was going to propose..but I was scared of expecting it and it not happening and then it ruining the cruise for me lolz. Well he goes over to the closet and brings me out a ring. But before he gives it to me..he tells me its a pre-engagement ring because he knew that I wanted to design my own. He told me he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. I was EXTREMELY happy...and I was acting all giddy..I think I was laughing at half the things he was telling me lolz.
Then, we meet up with my mom to go to dinner and shes FLIPPING OUT! People had to think she was crazie!! She was congratulating us and hugging us, taking pictures of us LIKE CRAZIE lolz..she was happier than I was.
But...because he didn't ask the official 'Will you Marry Me' question, didn't go down on one knee, and called it a 'pre-engagement ring'..I was confused on if we were actually engaged.
I didn't want to ruin anything by straight out asking, but it weighed on my mind too much and I eventually asked. He was dumbfounded and had no idea I was feeling that way. I always bothered him about not 'officially' asking...he had definatly meant it to be a real proposal.
Fast foward to this summer..when we got back from the Poconos..he took me down to a pier in brooklyn (where he took me before our cruise last summer) and went down on one knee and asked the official 'Will You Marry Me'..of COURSE I said yes!!
However, I still can't deciede how to design my ring!! hehe...Our whole story is all over the place!!

February 13, 2007 Top of the Empire State Building I was sooooo surpirsed I was in complete shock I had no idea what was going on right after he asker me a whole group of people came up to us and were asking us if they saw right i was speechless they probably thought i was strange but it was deffinitely a dayy ill NEVER forget

In dc - we had some pints of guinness and ate irish food at our favorite pub there left due to the hurricane that was hitting the city because the lights were going in and out. Walked in the rain to our hotel room and was just having a ball got the room got some beers watching tv. I left the room to get ice because i figured the power was going out and came back to my dear fh in his underwear (yea trashy but it was funny) with a ring in his hand asking me will i be real and stay with him IoI
I hit him saying you f-d up my proposal so the next day he did it in a nicer setting with clothing on IoI
Honestly it could of been more special and grand as everyone else typically has but in the end we are getting married and we still can laugh about that day.

I have to say, I love telling people this story. You'll see why...
I went to what I thought was a surprise birthday party for my FH's friend. However, the surprise was definitely on me. When I got there, all of friends and family were in the room. I was confused as can be and on the video of it, you can actually see me say 'what the hell?' I was told to have a seat in the front of the room. Standing in front of me were all of my male friends dressed in white shirts with blue collars around their necks, meant to look like sailors. George (FH) was dressed all in white with his back to me. After I sat down, he turned around and I could see he was wearing the sailor uniform from Top Gun. He started to sing 'You've Lost that Lovin' Feeling' and had all of the guys singing back up behind him. When he got up to the lyrics 'Baby, baby, I'd get down on my knees for you...' he got down on his knees and asked me to marry him!
I was shaking uncontrollably, with a smile from ear to ear and tears streaming down my face. I was so overwhelmed and excited that I said 'thank you' instead of saying yes! All the while there was a slide show of pictures of George and I throughout our relationship showing on one of the walls.
After the ring was on my finger, it became like an impromptu engagement party and we spent the night celebrating with our friends and family. Such a great night! He had planned for weeks before and got everyone involved without me having a clue.
