How do I know the # of wedding favors to order?

How do I know the # of wedding favors to order?
I need to order them within the month and obviously won't have my final count.What is a safe # to order with out spending too much extra on favors?
We are inviting approximately 250 people. Just cut in half or is that too much? We do have some single guests.

I would say however many invites you sent out is how many favors you should buy.

that is a good way of doinging it even if you have no shows you are shure to have enough favors

We sent out about 150 invites and bought 125 favors. We're doing 1 per couple.

We ordered one pp and had ALOT left over!!Id do about 75% of total guests expected

Me too, b/c even if they do respond no they may send or give a gift anyway and then you should have a favor for them.
