How do you feel about naming a child after yourself?

i'm not a fan. what if the parent is a horrible person the kid might grow up thinking he/she is going to end up the same way. or if the parent is absolutely wonderful.. the kid might feel they have too much to live up to.

i dont like it.

i have a friend named patrick and his mom is patricia.. everyone calls both of them pat. it's such a pain when calling his house and asking for 'pat'.

i like the jewish custom of using the first letter (or name) of someone who's passed away though.
