How do you NOT have a receiving line?
Im having a ceremony in a church - how exactly do you not have a receiving line? It seems that the guests will expect one and start lining up as soon as the ceremony is over!

How do you NOT have a receiving line?
Have the officiant make an announcement. The bride and groom would like you to proceede to the reception site or something like that.

We also just hid in the stairway until everyone was out of the church. They didn't see us so there was no where to line up.

How do you NOT have a receiving line?
I went to a wedding where they didnt have a line at the church, due to the limited time. After they walked down the aisle, they hid in the side doors. Everyone lined up with their bubbles, and they walked out right into the limos. Your guests will get the hint when they see that you are not there greeting them.

I didn't have one...
We walked into the side room and waited for everyone to get outside We instead did a receiving cocktail hour - after our pictures we went around to everyone (well we tried anyway) It was a nice way to go

This is what we are doing
We will have our Pastor announce that we will not be doing one due to limited time. All of our guest are attending the reception, so we will have our line at our cocktail hour. Happy Planning all

Here's what we are doing
We are not having a reeiving line either. Beisdes spreading the word verbally to others before the wedding, we are also including a littel note in the back of our programs. It'll say something ot this effect on teh very last page: 'Please don't forget the cocktail hour begins at 1 p.m. We ask that our guests do not anticipate a receiving line at the conclusion of Mass, but instead head to the reception.' Then we're putting the directions in.Welcome New Vendors
