I agree- People magazine did a whole spread on Too Thin, and then the next day will put Christina Ricci (swear, this is true) in a Big Gals of Hollywood type story. She is like a size 4!!! We should just all allow people to feel comfortable with their bodies and accept that we cannot all be 'the airbrushed Hollywood' standard.

Again- another instance then where FM would have been reasonable - or just simply a note that said, 'this post is for MichelleW' and I would've stayed out of it..
Next time I'll simply agree with you to save you the aggravation.

Re: How do you tell someone their body isn't?
Whatever anyone finds appropriate for themselves to wear is their business and no one elses, If you do not like what someone is wearing than don't look!!! IT IS NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS!!! and to say something to that person would be extremly rude. Turn it around, what if someone went up to you and said your chest was too big for that (fill in blank) or you were too skinny and sickly looking for that (fill in blank), it would not make you feel good, and we would be reading a post on how someone picked on you.
If you have something to say to a specific member FM or head up the thread that way. It will avoid a lot of the drama that starts on here.

Re: How do you tell someone their body isn't?
The answer to your question is there is no way to do that. I believe that the way someone dresses is no-one's business but their own. Even if this person has a nasty personality, it isn't nice to put them down by telling them they look bad.

Re: How do you tell someone their body isn't?
Why do some people feel the need to put others down to feel better about themselves? Why do some people feel the need to flaunt name brands and dollar signs to feel valuable? Its those that done speak that REALLY have something to flaunt, but dont. It just more classy not to. Why do some people have to start controversy constantly in order to get some sort of attention (kinda like how they say about 'troublemaker children' negative attention is still attention so its good enough for them, if thats all they can get). and then
Are we going to see more posts with exclamations, capital letters, lots of these and then the aftermath, lots of these .
I know children that would be able to see the writing on the wall here.

Anna - I agree 100%! Let's say all the bad things we can about anybody and everybody and see how many people we can get on our side. And God forbid you do not agree
It's easier to point out the flaws you preceive in others than to look yourself in the mirror.

Re: How do you tell someone their body isn't?
I responded to this post (that should be enough as far as 'if i have something to say' YES i do), not to give the negative and controversial attention that is obviously sought out, but to say something once and for all that just a few of us WOULD say. Enough of the laughing and giggling just to be a cheerleader on the sidelines.
I am mom to a delicious and gorgeous baby boy, have better things to do than to post on telling the fat lady at the beach that shes too fat. Is that what youre going to teach your children too?
Theres just too much of this double standard that someone else pointed out, that its getting comical.
Off to play with my little one.

Re: How do you tell someone their body isn't?
First of all the lady wasn't at the beach. She isn't a stranger she was someone who came to a BBQ at my mother in laws house and paraded around the backyard in a bikini fit for a 10 year old girl. She had no business wearing it........
But its OK when people post on and On about how girls wear ****ty outfits to work. I get it.
If I don't look suitable in something I would hope someone would say so................

Roger says beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I know its not original but he always keeps me in check with that whenever I start shooting off at the mouth at what I think is appropriate. It might not be appropriate for you, but she felt darn good putting it on. I don't think its yours or anyone else's place to tell a person this.
2 quotes to consider What I must do is all that concerns me, not what the people think.
-- Ralph Waldo Emerson
Take a good long look in the mirror and see if you like who you have become. --Anonymous
Whenever you have a negative thought or reaction to something, stop! Then see if you can come up with something positive about the situation.
--Anonymous
Instead of always harping on a man's faults, tell him of his virtues. Try to pull him out of his rut of bad habits. Hold up to him his better self, his real self that can dare and do and win out.
-- Eleanor H. Porter, 1868-1920
And one from the bible, pick the beam out of your eye before you pic it out of someone elses.

Re: How do you tell someone their body isn't?
Don't know about you guys, but I was raised with the 'If you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything' mentality.
Of course we are ALL guilty of joking around with friends about people that we see, but to come out and say something to the person is just completely hurtful.
