how does your FH feel about having babies?

Ok so yesterday i was surprised...at dinner don't remember what we were talking about but FH said 'oh you'll probably get pregnant during the HM' i said ha lets not plan anything, dont you want to wait? and he said no i wouldn't mind having a honeymoon baby. Now let me just say that we discussed this before and we both just agreed to not plan for anything. I said after 2 years we'll try, hes like thats long, maybe by 2009 to already be pregnant and if anything by the 2nd year have it...He also then said hey i wouldn't care if we had one now . I didn't even know what to say.

I want kids badly but i also thought we should wait a little bit lol. Who knew he had the itch

Oh and then he also told me i have to get pregnant May 29 2010 or 2011 i forgot so this way we have have a leap year baby lol...so on top of that im supposed to be popping one out after another

ETA: the part about him not caring if we had one now was just to show he really is ready and doesn't want to wait too long AFTER the wedding, no real intentions to have a kid now or him wanting to try for one before the wedding and i wont even consider it lol

I think FH is itching to have kids bc he is 31 already and has the silly notion that if he waits too long...he will be an 'old dad'. HE IS ONLY 31! ( well 32 by our wedding). Personlly, I wouldnt mind trying within the first year...or two. We have both travelled and enjoyed ourselves when we were single do I dont think we would feel like we missed out. The only place I want to go to is Italy...maybe we should book a trip to Italy for a vacation after we are married and try there!

omg, denise aunt janie would be in her GLORY if you guys had a baby right away!!!! I can just see her reaction!

ps...it is definately scary ( in a good way) that we are getting married and talking about kids...especially since I have known joe all of my life!

yeah i guess its hard to find the perfect time. But yeah book a trip to italy after you're married to get it out of the way lol,maybe 1 year anniversary

OMG I know, i can just imagine her reaction lol...WHen joe joked around that i was sick bc i was pregnant i was like WHAT NO OMG im not to jane and she was so calm like oh its not a big deal then made the calculations and said oh you'd have it a month before the wedding lol.

Yeah its scary and exciting. Hahaha yeah it must be weird for you to hear this definitely, especially with joe

We agree on being married for 9-10 years before we have our first baby. We will both be 25 when we get married. We have a long list of things we want to accomplish before we have children.

Hahah I knew what you meant! Some people want to wait, some a HM baby, others want to be 1-2 months preggers when they walk down the aisle. Everyone is different and you will figure out when the time is right.

well, i'll be 34 or 35 - sometimes plans go awry

if i wanted 1 or 2 kids then its not bad, i want to space out 3 or 4 kids though and not pop one out after another...I will also be around that age when im trying for another kid, sorry didnt meant for it to come out that way theres nothing wrong with having kids at that age, i just don't want to start at around 38 years old when i want so many, maybe by that age be on my last one

hey the twins will really help then lol, im hoping for the same thing but i want boy/girl twins. Check out your family history. I am next in my family to have twins and so is FH so are chances are high...I remember one person i knew had twins and then when she went to her doc a few years after to talk about having more kids he told her her chances of having twins again were 80-something percent, don't know how they figured that one out

For me i know im gonna have hard pregnancies so maybe thats why i say i am gonna need breaks in between. Two things that cause alot of problems are low blood pressure and calcium deficiency which i do have both. Not to mention they say you have the same pregnancy your mom had with you and my mom was sick the ENTIRE 9 months with me, but the labor was easy for her, had me in less than 4 hours

It's funny, because a year ago, if I asked FH about kids he would've passed out as fast as if I asked about marriage. Here we are, engaged...and talking about kids. He's ready when I am (which I need because I am older).....I don't want a HM baby......I want one solid year of newlywed-ness and then a one-year anniversary vacation baby! If all goes planned....

I dont know i have to let this all sink in lol...i wanted us to travel and do things for a little after we're married...but eh maybe we still can, FMIL always says she cant wait for grandkids and until they stay with her and even said you better always bring them over and they can stay with her lol

LOL the typical FMIL line.....watch out for, 'You bring your kid here too much' which closely follows! LOLLLL

FH has to be obsessed with children., its kinda weird , everyone says what a good dad he will be and I know he really wants them and Im all for it.,
but we both want to wait. He ideally wants me to retire and pop out 2 or 3., but I dont think we are ready for that., theres so much more going on in our lives, we can't even decide on a place to settle down and buy a house, but If I get prego we will LOVE IT!

At first we wanted to wait a while... I still feel we're too young and not completely financially stable enough to have a child... but every single time we're around our good friends who just had a baby, FH melts and wants to go work on that baby thing ASAP!

I think we'll probably wait a year or two. We want to enjoy being married and having nothing to hold us back from doing things married couples without children do.

I think we both want to have babies ASAP...... it all depends on our finances, and how quickly we can get into a house.

I think we'll probably start trying late '08, early '09.....

This has been a current topic in our house too! OMG, same thing too. FH is all about a HM baby! haha He was like, if you pregnant now it would be okay. I was like we made it this far, cant we wait till after we get married. haha But now his brother's wife is pregnant (age 25) so, he has a biggg itch!

Thats cute he is all about having babies!!

My FH wants kids- but we want to wait till we can afford them and have somewhere other than a walk in closet to put them in. Im thinking after 2 years of being married.

Yeah, we’re both good with waiting, just not on the same page with how long! The othr day I was talking about it and I was like “yeah, five years should be a good waiting time” and he said “Uh, I was thinking two or three”! He’s so weird about his age…he’s positive 27 is somehow incredibly old
