I've heard mixed things. Some people suggest doing it asap, but others say you can wait till about 9 months or so to the date. So, I'm interested to hear other opinions.

I booked mine In April my wedding is in Feb. I just knew which florist I was going to use.

I'm looking to book mine by this mth, my wedding is 10/2010, but I rather have options and then go with the person I love than to HAVE to pick someone because they're the only ones available. JMO

i think you will be fine booking 8-9 mths ahead but you can def do it earlier if you know there is a specific florist/person you want to work with. That way you can make sure to book them before they are already booked for your day.

I booked mine about a year and a half before. I think its really up to you. Id rather know all my major vendors are booked. I hear alot of places are booked up for 2010.

I was going to wait until 9-12 months before, but some of the florists that I was interested in limit themselves to one wedding per day, so that is why I am doing it now. I want all of my options open. If you like some of the larger florists, then I think you can wait.

you can do it whenever you feel ready! i booked mine a few months after i got engaged, i met with a florist that i felt was very professional and gave me a great deal.

my wedding is 10 months away and i haven't booked a florist yet - anything actually besides the RH. i'm going to try to book it by end of july though. my first priority is a photographer first, then dj & florist.

i booked my florist a couple a months ago but honestly it really depends on the type of person you are. for me, i like to get things done and the fact that i went to a bunch of florists and the one i booked with gave me an awesome price so i booked them because i didn't want to wait and find out someone booked them on my date..... so it was more of peace of mind for me. I say shop around til you find someone you are comfortable with

I will be booking mine this Thursday. So, it was 1 year in advance. Some only do 1-2 weddings at a time, and they may be booked for your date. Since your wedding is October, you still have time.
I think the earlier the better, that way you have more options. You may find a florist that you love and meets your budget plus everything you are looking for and may find out they are booked for your date.
For me, I just like to have as much as I can done now, because there is just going to be so much more as I get closer to my wedding date.

i'm looking to book mine by the end of July and my wedding is Nov. 2010. don't let people tell you its too early. one florist I wanted to meet with is already booked on my date a year and a half in advance.
