people are telling me its way to early but the bridal store i want to get my dress from told me it should come in about 8 mnths... and then all the alterations and whatever.... how far in advance did you all order your dresses???

i ordered my dress almost a year in advance. give or take a month

I dont want to look for a dress now mainly cuz i know i'm going to change my mind 1000 times.

I'll probably start seriuosly looking late summer

I'm getting married a few weeks after you and I ordered my dress a month ago. The salon put in the order, but they wont start to make the dress for a few more months. It wont come in until prob around this time next year and that should leave plenty of time for alterations! I just couldn't wait!

i started looking and trying dresses on at 1 1/2 yrs away... and finally ordered at 1 yr till the wedding...

I ordered mine like 18 months in advance. I didn't mean to, but my mom and I went to 'just look' and I fell in love with my gown. We bought it on the spot cause it was a trunk show, so we saved 15%. I still am in love with it!!!!!!!!

I strongly advise that you give a 'fake' wedding date so the place actually gets the dress in (and alterations done) in time for the wedding. I told my place that my wedding was 2 weeks before my actual wedding.

I did that bc some poor girl was there throwing a fit bc she was getting married the next day and her dress wasn't ready yet. As it was, they barely got my dress ready in time for my 'fake wedding date.'

I ordered my dress in January and my wedding is in October so around 10 months. I was told by my bridal shop it should arrive this month or next. I wouldn't order my dress right away because how about you see something else you love more then your stuck with the other dress. You should wait until the summer or even Fall just to be safe.

I ordered my dress 7 months before my wedding and it came in plenty of time without paying rush charges.

i just orderedd it this weekend.....they told me it will take 9 months and i found it, i loved it so i figured i'd order it just to be on the safe side......i rather it come early then late......

I ordered my 1st gown 8 months in advance and my second 2-3 months in advance. I guess it depends on the designer or where you get it.
