people are telling me its way to early but the bridal store i want to get my dress from told me it should come in about 8 mnths... and then all the alterations and whatever.... how far in advance did you all order your dresses???

My advice is WAIT to order!!! The only circumstance I would say you shouldn't wait is if it's a trunk show and you won't get the chance to order it again-

My story is different than the other brides that replied, so I hope I'm not rockin any boats here

I ordered my dress originally mid Sept 08 for an Oct 09 wedding. Well wouldn't you know that 2 months later I started having doubts. I processed for a few weeks, and immediately went to Wedding Salon to do a re select of my gown-I went by myself so I wouldn't have any outside influences. Thankfully they didn't charge me for the 1st dress, and they applied my down payment towards my new gown. So essentially I NOW ordered my gown mid December for an October wedding.

I think there could be so many 'perfect dresses' out there, that you could fall in love and have a moment with a dream dress over and over again. With a different dress each time. Especially if you're fashion fickle it's likely you will change your mind.
So I say order 7-10 months. If your wedding is June 2010 then order by October.
I know its SO exciting, but trust me, as your wedding plans take shape, so will how you envision your dress. Good luck!

um i just ordered mine & my wedding is not until june 2011! I had so many people criticizing but I want to know what I am wearing & loved the whole ensemble that I did not want to take the chance of anything being discontined. plus since we are paying for alot ourselves I wanted to pay for half so it it out of the way.
