How long after you are married will you and you fh have kids? Have the two of you talked about it yet? My fh and I talked about it and he thinks he wants to wait to have kids (like maybe 8 years). He wants to travel and do things while we are still young. I want to travel and do things too but I don't want to wait 8 years to have kids. I can see waiting maybe at most two or three years but not 8 years after you are married. I am 27 years old. I want a family. I want two or three kids. He wants no more then two. We have had this talk before and he said to me he wants to have a family with me he just never told me he wanted to wait such a long time to have a family. I am a little upset about it but what can I do. He never did say he didn't want kids he just said he wants to wait to have kids. He would make such a great father so I have no idea what he is so worried about if that is what it is.My fh is great with kids and he has such a big heart. I love him with all my heart and I want to have a family with him. I have always wanted to have a family and be a Mom. I just don't want to wait to long and I loose that chance.

We definitely want to wait a few years after we are married to have kids. We need to manage our debt and start saving. I would like to be financially secure before starting a family with him. I will be 26 when we get married and I def. want to start having kids by the time I am 30, so I guess 3 or 4 years...
I want 3 kids too, but FH wants only 2. I am the third child, so I always say, if my mom didn't go for #3, I wouldn't be here, so I have to go for it!

I would just say that as long as you're in agreement about having kids, the time frame is not as important. Chances are he will change a LOT in three years and might not think the same way. You could also just talk about what the Longest you would feel comfortable waiting, and the SHORTEST he would feel comfortable starting and you might be closer than you think.
FH and i are going to wait about a year -until he finishes grad school but we are a lot older than you - I'm 35 so don't have 8 years to wait. .

def want the 1st before im 30... fh felt a litte differently as in he wanted to wait longer... i told him, ive been with you for 8 yrs, i need some new excitement in my lifev asap lol

We are going to wait until I am done with my MBA which will be 4 yrs after we get married which will give us time to travel and buy a house too.

wait till you have 1 1 child will change your whole life. don't plan on any particular number of kids. Just think of each one as a blessing and a gift. FH wants 2 more I only want 1 maybe 2 more tops. Although i was told 13 years ago that i might not have any and i have a beautiful healthy 5 year old. I have also had a few misscariages... they are heart breaking every time and it never gets easier.

We are getting older 34 when we get married. I feel like I can't wait...my clock is ticking so loud you can hear it across the country
We have talked about it and we are going to start trying in the begining of 2010. I can't wait. If it were up to me I would have a HM baby

We are going to wait until after our one year anniversary. FH will be 33 when we get married so he doesn't want to wait too long and i will be 26 when we get married and I think that's a good amount of time. I can't wait!!!!

we would like to wait for a while but we do not have that luxury. I will be 36 the day after we get married so probably start trying very shortly after that.

thank you we are going to look into fertility stuff after the wedding wince he will be almost 32 and i will be 30 next year so we gotta get a move on it if we wanna be able to chase the rugrats around and my daughter is basically telling us she NEEDDDDDSSSSS a sibbling like NOW
if it was totally up to FH I would be preggo now with TWINS

You crack me up, I said the same thing to FH, after 7 years together, we need to throw someone new into the mix, he eventually agreed with me.
I think we're going to start trying after a few months, I'll be almost 29 and he'll be turning 32 when we're married so I want to jump on the baby train.

I would love a HM baby! FH goes back and forth with wanting one now and then wanting to wait a year. Bottom line is we'll be a month shy of 10 years together when we get married soooooo I think we're ready once we get married! We would like to be financially secure before any come along so hopefully this wedding stays at a reasonable cost!

im not sure - i def want to try and plan them though - i want to wait until we are in a house and we have everything that we want - and make sure we have alot of money saved - then we can start trying - not sure when that will be - it could be in 1 year, 2 years, 5 years.....i just want to wait until we are ready and have done everything that we want - b/c once we have a baby that means no more doing whatever we want - no more traveling - no more romantic vacations so yeah, i want to make sure im ready to give all that up

Thanks ladies for your imput on this. I realy don't want to wait 8 years. I want to wait the most 2 or 3 years. I want a family I have been wanting that for years. Each child is a blessing. I love children. I know we would be great parents together. Maybe he will come around and agree with me on waiting 8 years is a bit much.
