Do you think we should have our shower??? How close is too close? Mine is supposed to be a surprise but I want to through hints at them because I dont want it soooo close to the wedding.

I went to one that was 4 months before, it worked out for me better because both wedding and shower were OOT...travel costs + gifts add up...
I am probably having two and one will probably be 3 months before and the other hopefully shortly after that....

i say 4-6 months before is good. that gives you plenty of time to get organized and still buy stuff off of your reg that you didnt get.

Mines is also suppose to b a surprise. I think and have a feeling it's going to be about 2 months before the wedding, which is fine with me.

I think 3-4 months is a nice about of time before the shower - not too close but not too far either

mine will be 1.22.11
and my wedding date is 4.9.11
so a little under 3 months, which is perfect for me
i want it to be close enough to gear up excitement
but still give me time.
My bachelorette party will be some time in March

I told my mom i'd like to have it 1 month before the wedding, so I believe they are having it on March 27th.
I also said I wanted to be surprised, but I'm such a control freak that I doubt that'll happen lol

I think mine is comming up soon and it's 5 1/2 months before my date. I know my mom was concerned about having it dec-feb b/c of weather and then march would be too close. so anywhere inside the 6month mark is ok

Its not when you think it is going to be...remember there is a voice of reason around! And I am traveling the rest of year pretty much every weekend!
Typical time frame is 4-12 weeks prior.

It usually is about two months before, but different circumstances always could change that.

All the showers I've been to have been one to two months before the wedding but I think anywhere within the 4 month mark is fine.
