How long did you know him?

I dated him for 2.5 years, knew him for 2.6 years total. =)

Some of my late 20's friends are beginning to pressure their bfs for a ring after only a few months!

9 MONTHS 3 weeks

My parents (who will be married 35 years this year) got married after KNOWING each other for five months!

I think I may have the shortest time...
We met 7/7/05
Engaged on 12/3/05
So basically just shy of FIVE months. Ican't explain it, it was just one of those things.... we just KNEW. i knew on the 3rd date.

We won't even be together 2 years when we get married, but I know we'll be together for many, many more so it's all good!

Didn't waste any time.... we're old!

Same thing with us but we got married 10 months after the engagement..

Another older couple here.

My husband made an unofficial proposal after 5 months of dating. After 9 months of dating (and after asking my parents if he could marry me) he made the 'official' proposal with the ring.

Me too.

FH proposed after 7 months of dating. Getting married 6.5 months after he proposed.

No time wasted either!

ETA: make wedding arrangment in early January before he officially proposed 1 month later.

4 months, but I've know him for 14 years......I actually had a crush on him when i was younger.....i take that back. I've always had a crush on him (he is my cousin's best friend!)

We dated for about 1 year and 8 months when he proposed on my 30th birthday! We knew each other for about 3 and a half years total.

He proposed the day before our one year anniversary The wedding date is 18 months later so we will be together 2.5 yrs.

dated about 4.5 years before he proposed, had know each other 6 years before dating and are having a 2 year engagement. i am SO ready to get married already!

3yrs. 8 months, we had both been engaged before so we were a little leary about moving too quickly, although i was ready a lot sooner, we will be together 5 yrs when we get married

I knew him 4 mts before we dated, we knew on our 1st date we wanted to get married, had to wait for the divorce to go thru b/c he was seperated at the time - he propsed to me officially 16 mts after our 1st date!

We only dated for a little over 8 months, but we had been friends for 4 years before we started dating. We were also living together already (as friends) before we started dating, so it just kind of happened quickly...

I seriously doubt it would have been a fast if we hadn't been best friends already...
