booked my church and reception location...Brentwood Country Club.
I plan to make appointments with vendors over the summer...some that I have called said they would give me 2006 prices if I book in 06 for 08.

i'm another 08 bride. i booked the priest, catering hall, dj, photographer and videographer. i figured it's a good idea to try to lock in 2006 prices. it's only gonna get more expensive. ![]()

so far i have the estate at east wind for the ceremony and the reception, tommy's tunes for the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception, and ADA studios for both the photography and videography. if you have any questions on them, let me know! ![]()

We booked our reception hall 2 weeks ago and went to the church last week. By the end of the summer i plan to have the photographer (friends father), videographer and DJ booked and out of the way, because like the other ladies said, you want to get the 2006 prices. When we went to book Chateau La Mer, he said the prices will be going up once their renovation is complete... I was sooo happy that we booked that right away.. Good luck and happy planning ![]()

FH and I have booked the church and narrowed the reception halls down to two choices: Villa Lombardi's and Larkfield Manor. We also want to lock in 2006 prices as soon as possible.

YAY!!.. Another 2008 bride right here!!.. March 8th, 2008!.. I booked my church and reception.. St Patricks in Smithtown and the Watermill!!.. I have appointments set up as well to meet with Tommy Tunes for the Dj and then ADA studios as a photogropher!.. so we will see!!..

I am totally biased but Villa Lombardi's is gorgeous. The food is excellent and the service is spectaular. Let me know if you need any specific info on them. Good luck to all the 2008 ladies. Get those 2006 prices while you can

SO far I have:
Church - OUr lady of grace in howard beach
hall- jericho terrace
DJ - classie sounds
I already know my photographer and florist i just have to book them. . . .i am doing some type of blue. . . i am going dress shopping for the 2nd time next week. . . . and i plan on having everything done before 2007 (like limos etc. not dress!)
WHEW! sometimes i think i just post this stuff so i can remember all the stuff i have to do!
oh yeah and hm - ARUBA BABY!

Everyone says its WAY TOO SOON to be worrying about this stuff...but they aren't the ones paying for it! I'm looking at vineyards this weekend and hopefully i'll come back with a booked hall and pics! can't wait!

It's really not too soon. When I wa looking for a hall, there were a few places I called that were already booked for my date. Plus, most Djs and photographers are willing to give 06 prices even if the wedding is in 08. Don't listen to people. Like you said, they are not the ones paying for it!

Exactly.. i still want the 06 prices.. i hope to have the photo/video and limos done by the end of the year

Me too! I will most likely be using the house DJ at BCC because it would only be like an additional $500 on my package. But I still want to make sure I get the best prices...so my advice is get hall, church, DJ/band, photo/video & limos booked by the end of 06.

I am not trying to get off topic with the Main Question of this thread, But My FI and I booked our wedding in the end of May of 2005, Let me just say that this year totally flew by. It goes so fast, we are getting married in 10 months and I don't know where the time went. We booked a lot of our major vendors early but we still have so much to do. Don't listen to people when they say you have so much time, because you really don't. Time flys, vendors book up fast, and your only a bride once (hopefully![]()
) ), so take full advantage of your 2 year engagement! Oh BTW Congrats to all of you girls who found your hall and booked vendors, it is such a good feeling!! ![]()

We're booked at Fox Hollow for March 29, 2008.
So far other than that we have the date at the church reserved and we want to get the rest of our booking done by the end of this year. We basically know the vendors we want to check out too so it's just a matter of comparing them.
HM we want to do Ireland but we'll see what is left in the budget by then!![]()

girls best thing i did was book vendors in 2005- not only did i lock in 05 prices but its too stressful as the wedding gets closer and closer- you have enough to worry about already!!! ![]()
