My mom is paying for most of it. We are paying for certain things. But I am acting like it is my $$. Im trying to find things cheaper than I would normally. I ask her opinion before I commit to anything. Im trying to be a good daughter.

We're paying for everything. Well actually FH is paying for everything right now because I am a full time law student and am only working part-time. I graduate in May and hope to be working by August (after the Bar). My parents will be paying for my dress and that's it.

We paid for everything except my outfit (from dad and stepmom), our invites (dad/stepmom) and the harpist (my mom). My dad/stepmom also paid for their friends to attend- 2 tables.

We are paying for the whole thing. But in our case, my parents could have but I didn't want them to. I have not lived in their house for a long time, I'm older, have a career and so does FH. My parents are retired and I wasn't comfortable about having them pay. I explained that to my parents and they told me that was okay if that's what I wanted. I also asked them if they wanted to, to take the money they were planning to spend on the wedding and put it in college accounts for my children some day. My parents really liked that. I admire all of you that are out there working really hard to pay for the wedding--it takes discipline. I found that out early one.

My Mom is paying for the hall, and his parents are paying for the Rehearsal Dinner. Other than that, we're paying for everything else. We've will be engaged for 2 years by the time of the wedding, which we needed to save to pay for everything. I'm getting really excited and would do it all again! I'm working 2 jobs in order to help pay, and FH is socking it away. Don't feel guilty, I wish we could save for other things and my parents could afford to pay for the whole thing! Whichever, not that big of a deal.

His parents are paying for about a 1/3 because they have a huge family, we are paying the rest. My parents paid for college so I don't expect them to pay for a wedding, but my mom is going to pay for most of the shower. I think FIL's are also going to pay for the rehearsal dinner. Saving for the wedding is not that bad.

My parents are paying for most of the hall, his parents are paying for the band, flowers and photography, and we're paying for whatever is left over. It worked out pretty even, with each of us paying for about 1/3. Everyone has been great with letting us make all of the decisions. I asked thier opinion about everythng and basically thier attitute is whatever makes US happy. So I have been lucky.

We are paying for everything except: My dress (mom & dad) Flowers (mom & dad) Rehearsal dinner (FILs) Bridal Shower (mom & dad)
We are VERY grateful to get the help on those items. We have 10.5 months to go and I'm stressing about the $$$ already
(We just bought a house in Sept. '02 so we're feeling the crunch. )

My parents are giving us a gift, which we have the option of getting before or after the wedding, and his parents are paying for the rehersal dinner, and my mom gave me $500 for my dress. The rest of the money we need to come up with. The good thing about my parents money being a gift, is that they have no control over the wedding. They can make any suggestions they want, but they don't have to be listened too.

We are paying for EVERYTHING!!!!
It is hard, but you have to prioritize and save.
I wish I did have rich parents to help out, but that is not the case.

We are!! However my Dad is trying to help in ways he can, we received some money as engagement gifts even though we didn't have a party, but yes, we are paying for th ENTIRE Wedding ourselves. UGHH! It is hard.

My parents are paying for most of the reception hall, and my dress. That's about half the entire cost with the honeymoon. My FH thinks they should put in more, but they are retired, and, well I bring home more than my dad's pension.
My FH and I had numerous arguments about this. Sometimes he doesn't understand that my family makes and spends money differently than his!!!!!

We are paying for our wedding, although my mom bought my dress, headpiece, veil, shoes, bra etc. Both sets of parents gave us the downpayment for our house.

We are also paying for everything...except...my SIL has bought my favors and helped in paying for part of my gown, shoes, and wedding night/honeymoon lingerie. She says since my mom has passed away she wants to buy the things she knows my mom would have gotten for me. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful SIL. She is so special!! Oh, and my best friend is giving me $$$ for part of my flowers. So, I guess I can't say we are doing all on our own!!

In the beginning my mother was paying for the hall & my FIL's were paying for the rehersal dinner & we were paying for everything else. Then my aunt (really my other mother LOL) told us she wanted to pay for our honeymoon as our wedding gift. My mother has since told me she plans on paying for my dress, transportation, & a brunch the following morning. My FIL's have also said they will be sending us money to be used for the wedding where we feel necessary. I know I'm very lucky because everyone is doing more than I ever thought.
